Chapter One: Confused

~***~

Pippa's POV

----------------------

It's been a week since the engagement party and I still haven't seen James. Is he avoiding me? I sat up in my bed and stared at the clock hanging loosely on the wall. Anger was welling up inside me. The clock fell off the wall and as I moved my gaze it followed; it crashed on my wooden floor. I stared, flabbergasted, at the wall where the clock used to hang. What just happened? I jumped as I heard a knock on my bedroom door. I glanced at the door for a second, but then looked back at the wall. I was too shocked by what had just happened that I didn't even notice Cameron walked in.

I stepped off the bed and went to touch the wall."What's so amazing about that wall?" He laughed. I spun around, my hair flying back behind me. "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you."

"It's okay. Honestly. I was just in a daydream, that's all." I managed a smile. I looked at Cameron closely. He was just in his loose shorts and was holding a towel; his abs gleaming from the water after his shower and his hair slightly messed up. He looked so good.

"Have you seen my brother? I think he's avoiding me."

I flopped back on my bed. "Ugh, tell me about it." He came and sat beside me and looked intensely into my eyes. Gosh, I miss our kisses.

He looked away. "Is he avoiding you as well?" I sighed and grabbed his face so he was looking at me. I got lost in his sparkling blue eyes and pulled him towards me so that I could feel his breath on my neck. I want you, and I'm going to have you. No matter-

We were about to kiss when we heard a big, BANG! I rushed out of my bedroom and ran downstairs. The door had been pushed off its hinges and a man in a black suite stood in front of me.

"Hello, Pippa." He smiled. There was something oddly familiar about him but, at the same time, something so new.

Harmony's POV

----------------------

"Hi, James" I said, shaking his hand. "What did you want?"

"You" He grinned. "Now, aren't you going to introduce yourself?"

"I'm Harmony and if you don't mind, I need to find the rest of this letter." I showed him the letter in my hand and he studied it carefully.

"I know someone who can help you there. Come with me." He pointed to his black van.

"I'm not just getting into a strangers car!" I let out a scream.

"Do as I say and nothing will happen." He grabbed my arm and as I went to shout for help; he put his hand over my mouth and told me to shush. I carried on struggling as he tried to get me in the van. "Stop it! No-body can hear you! The walls are sound proof and look around." I looked around. The road was empty, as far as the eye could see, and the park across the road was dead; the flowers drooping to one side, play area broken and covered with graffiti and the trees were so big and thick that it made the whole thing pitch black. How could anyone possibly go in there and be able to see? Maybe there's someone camping there or trying to impress their friends because they think it's haunted? I let a high pitched squeal and kneed James in his crotch. I felt him release me for a second and took that opportunity to flip him over my shoulder and let him crash against the cold floor.

I was too shocked by how well my karate had paid off that I didn't notice someone behind me until a cloth covered my mouth; I could smell something sweet and heavenly. I started struggling again. It was too late; I was slipping into a deep dark sleep and everything was turning black. This is it. This is the end.

I stopped struggling as I passed out, and that was the last thing I remembered.

I woke up on a cold, concrete, floor. I opened my eyes and looked around the room; the walls were like the ones you get in a sports hall and there was a little rotating camera in the corner. The fact it was watching my every move, made this a little less comforting. There was no door; that means no way in, and no way out. Damn! A sudden realization occurred to me. I'm not dead! I saw a long wooden table and a small, blue, plastic chair sat in the middle of the room with a bowl of, steaming hot, porridge lay upon the table. YUCK! I am not eating that. It looked gross.

Why was I here anyway? What's going on? Why me? A series of questions spun around my head. They needed to be answered, and quick. I glanced back up at the camera. If I wanted someone to come then they had to know I was awake.

I sat on the chair. It was cold, hard and, not at all, comfy. I heard a heavy metal door open. I didn't see a door? Then how did I get in? I turned around and stared at it in disbelief. Where had that door just come from? It defiantly wasn't there a second ago. James walked through the door and smiled at the puzzled look on my face. "I see you like the door." He snickered. He placed the chair he was carrying on the opposite side of the table. "Anyways, I need to ask you a few questions and I’m sorry for shoving you in that car and putting you to sleep, but you wouldn't co-operate.”

I had so many questions at that point, but only one question came out my mouth. "What did you expect?!" I shouted, standing up from my chair fast enough to cause it to topple over. I walked over to him. My face just inches away from his. I lowered my voice to a whisper. "Did you really think that I would just get in a strange man's car? Pathetic" James let out a little chuckle and stood up so he was a lot taller than me. I pushed him, gently, on the chest and so that he fell back into his chair. I looked into his golden-brown eyes and he looked back into my gleaming grey ones.

I felt a sudden Whoosh! And I could sense confusion, anger and excitement, but it wasn't coming from me.

OMG, I'm inside his head.

Yeah, too right you are! A voice shouted.

What is happening?

That's what I would like to know!

Pippa's POV

----------------------

"Who the hell are you and what are you doing knocking my door down!" I screamed. How dare him!

"Oh, Pippa love. What a nice surprise! I have missed you loads." He put his arms out and invited me to hug him, but I just turned away. "Please don't be like that. I love you." Love me? He doesn't even know me! Who the hell is he anyway? He looked so familiar, yet too much like a stranger.

"Who are you anyway?" I grunted.

"It's me!" I stared blankly at him. "You really don't recognize your own father?" I let out a gasp. Now it all made sense. He had the same brown hair as me, the same intimidating voice and glowing skin. He was stood in the same lightly slouched posture, which leaned to the left, the same as mine; even, the same wary facial expression and glimmer in his eyes. His confidence and charisma practically shouted out at me. That's why I thought I recognized him, but at the same time, he was a complete stranger!

"Yeah, I can see it." I smiled. A chill ran down my spine, wiping the smile clear off my face. "How come you're only just coming to see me now?"

"I've been so busy lately."

"IT'S BEEN 18 FRICKING YEARS!" Anger was surging through my body, it was the same feeling from when the clock fell off the wall.

"Don't use that tone with me young lady!" He warned.

"You can't just randomly walk into my life one day like nothing has happened AND expect me to be okay with it!" I shouted furiously.

I glanced at through the open door, into the TV room. I stared at the cream coloured curtains then back at my dad. The curtains suddenly ripped off the wall and flew straight into him, knocking him off his feet and leaving him wounded. I knelt beside him. Blood was oozing out of the cut on his head. I took a deep breath. Have I killed him?
