Chapter Five: Taking Risks

10 DAYS TO GO

~***~

Pippa's POV

----------------------

Damn...we've not got much time. "Does she have any friends that could help out? I asked. What a stupid question, of course she has friends but if they were to help we'd end up blowing our cover.

"Actually she does." I'm just that amazing. I let out a little laugh and my dad sighed. "She's called Meredith. She moved to London, Watford recently and she used to be best friends with her."

"Isn't that a bit of a coincidence?" I stood up and paced back and forth trying to think as my father sat and stared at his empty glass.

"DAD!" I snapped. He jumped out his seat and looked at me how a toddler looks at their teacher when they get in trouble for the first time. "We need a plan since we can't get in contact with Harmony!"

"Oh right yes... We will need Meredith's hope since she was assigned to look after Harmony."

"Huh?" I said sitting down on the coffee table.

"Well, you see. Long story cut short, Meredith is also a goddess. She has the power to see into the future and to change that future." He let out a deep sigh. This isn't going to be much of a short story... "You see I've known her since she was born-"

"Yeah but what has this got-"

"Don't interrupt me young lady!" I saw now the toddler being told off. "She was a premature baby and.... How do I put this? Being born at 6 mo-"

The doorbell erupted into a long chain of chiming. "Ugh... Shutup! I'm coming!"

I opened the door and Cameron was stood in front of me. I felt my insides tingle at the sight of him. "Cameron what are you doing here?" I said trying to hide my happiness and putting on a straight face.

"I live here." He pointed out. What are you doing here? OMG, I just made a complete fool of myself.

I turned around to walk back in the house but as I did, Cameron's strong, masculine hands grabbed my waist and spun me around so are noses were touching. "Saffron isn't in is she?"

"No, she went away with my mum." My palms were going sweaty and anyone within a 2 mile radius could hear my heart beating.

"Good. Then I can do thi-"

I heard a loud cough from my dad standing behind me. "What's going on?"

I turned around and faked a smile. "You saw Cameron before? Well this is my half-sisters... husband."

"Do you love her?" My dad turned to Cameron. HE DID NOT JUST ASK THAT?!

"Actually, I think I do love Pippa." I could feel my heart melting and legs go wobbly. I ran up the stairs and slammed my bedroom door shut behind me. "PIPPA!" Footsteps were coming up the stairs.

Cameron, LOVES me?

Sure, loads of guys have said they 'love' me because, I am one of the most popular girls in the school, but coming from Cameron, it meant the world to me. All those other boys didn’t love me; they were just overwhelmed by my beauty and popularity.

He could make my heart melt like butter on a hot summer’s day.

“Cameron.” I coughed.  I turned to stare into his deep blue eyes. “I love you too.” A smile crept across his face as he got off the sofa and took my hands in his.

“I know.” He whispered. A million bolts of lightning were sent down my spine as our lips met. After what seemed like forever, he pulled away and let out a breath of hot air. “I’ve missed our kisses.”

“I know.” I wrapped my arms around the back of his neck as he wrapped his arms around my waist. “Where’s my dad?”

“Gone to find Meredith.”

“So we’re alone?” I giggled.

“Oh, hell we are.”
