A suitable Man

Chapter 20

It was a new dawn for the two love birds cocooned inside the covers of the bed.  A sense of wonder stirred within Smriti's subconscious mind, rousing her to a comfortable awareness of Mahendra's presence. A lovely warmth encompassed her, that radiated from his body pressed close against her. Long, lean muscular thighs were tucked beneath her own as an arm held her close. She could feel his chest against her back and the warm tickle of his breath on her nape. 

Light as feather, his lips touched a spot on her neck and dropped a kiss on her bare shoulder. She twisted to face him. No words were spoken, there was no need. The eyes had a language of their own, love and yearning filled their entire world right now. It didn't matter to them what happened in the world beyond-their  room. Mahendra steadied himself on his elbows and looked deep in to her eyes. He bent his head and kissed her long. "You have given me the most precious gift  Smriti, yourself.....I want to cherish you like this whole my life, my love.... Never had  imagined that my quest for justice for my family will land me with the greatest love of my life. Although I have said it before, I repeat it yet again, I love you Smriti, I love you  more that you will ever know. Its going to be hard to be away from you Smriti, even for a moment..... My lovely Smriti....."

Smriti bit her lip, " then take me everywhere with you..." Mahendra smiled, " yes... oh yes I will... I am going to take you whenever and wherever I please... he laughed devilishly. " And don't you ever keep me away from you.....  a rosy blush filled her creamy skin... he again caught her in a tight embrace, not letting her move even an inch.

Smriti playfully pushed him aside and sat up clutching the shawl to her bosom. " Get up lazybones.... It's already late now, have to go to school now... you too have work at Sirsi na?"

Mahendra pulled her back to the bed and pinned her hands above her head, " Ohh my dear Teacher, please teach me na.... I am your most obedient student" Smriti wiggled under him deliberately arousing him as she slid her arms around his neck and said dreamily " you have more to teach me.... I am completely at your mercy"

Another flight to the stars was shared as Mahendra grudgingly left the bed on Smriti's insistence. They got ready, teasing, enticing, kissing each other and walked down hand in hand. Smriti seemed to be emitting happiness all over as Suma Akka noticed the change in Smriti's demeanour, the rosy glow had not left her cheeks. She was looking very beautiful today in spite of wearing a simple salwar kameez.

Smriti prepared breakfast and they both sat eating the piping hot "Tatte idlis" with sambhar. Shankar has arrived and was giving updates of the estates to Mahendra, but he noticed that Mahendra was not at all attentive to his talks today, he caught him stealing glances at Smriti now and then. Shankar was glad to see the love between them. He remembered the same camaraderie he had seen between Mahendra's parents. "How happy and blissful days were they...... all brought to an end by that bastard Sheena" thought Shankar. " Devi Durga Parmeshwari, please keep our Mahendra Smriti safe from all the evil in the world" Shankar prayed.

Mahendra discussed about the plantations and estates and the work needed to be done regarding the security. Shankar had got the papers needed for the government approvals for the Sandalwood project. " you will have to go to Bangalore Putta... you need to meet Mr. Ashok Bhat in the home department for the further approvals" Shankar said.

" oh that's great.. then I can take Smriti with me too, anyways I was planning to take her to meet Amma, Pappa and Dodda.. good.. I shall make the reservations." Mahendra said excitedly.

He went upstairs to find Smriti taking her bag to go to school  and said, " Pack your bags... we are going to Bangalore, we shall take the evening bus tomorrow... Amma will be thrilled to meet you... and we shall not inform them that we are coming... let's keep it as a surprise"
