Epilogue

Life returned back to normalcy in the Shetty Family. Vasundhara was arrested but was later let out after proving that the act was done in self defence.

Padmakar Bhat was sentenced with twenty years of rigorous imprisonment for being an accomplice to the murder and sabotage of Jagganath Shetty.

A team was appointed to safeguard and welfare of the Sandalwood plantations under the leadership of Shankar Gowda. Mahendra would juggle his time between Bangalore and Kumta overseeing both , the hotel business as well as the plantations.

Dodda And Vasundhara were overjoyed by this decision of Mahendra.

Today was their last day in Kumta as the next day they would move back to Bangalore. All of them retired for the day.
The silence of the bedroom that evening was thwarted by the whispering voices that came from the bed as Smriti lay tucked securely in the curve of her husband's body. Together they observed the night breezes and the gently swaying trees beyond their window. Smriti was very emotional, she had never imagined she would be so happy leaving Kumta forever. She would come back time and again to her beloved Kumta.
" I think I should like to see America someday", she murmured, " You talked about it so much, it must be quite a country. Do you think it would be possible for me to see it someday?"
" whatever my Smriti desires," Mahendra breathed, nuzzling the fragrant tresses beside her ear. " My world is where you are, and i follow where you lead".
Smriti giggled as his teeth nibbled at her earlobe, " No Sir, i will never lead you, for my hand will be tucked firmly in yours. We are one, in truth and by your side I will gladly walk".
Mahendra kissed her lovingly, "beside me is where i would have you, always close to my heart.

When love becomes the weakest point in your life, you become the strongest person in the world. Smriti changed from a naive village girl in to a competent confident woman. She completed her B.Ed from a reputed college in Bangalore and was now a Lecturer for Accounts. She had finally completed her dream of becoming a full fledged Teacher.

As for our Ganga, she was relocated to Bangalore and cared for in the shelters sponsored by Jagganath group of Hotels... Now she also found a "a suitable bull" and had  her own brood with him.

Love and mischief had become the basis of Mahendra Smriti's life. And a sweet labour of love was born to them couple of years later on the same date as Mahendra's birthday. Mahendra' s happiness knew no bounds at the precious gift Smriti gave him, and they named their first born daughter "Vennela"which meant "Moonlight".

And as the moonlight reached pre-School, a son was born whom they named as ' Prithvi'.  Dodda closed her eyes in contentment at the ripe old age of 83.

Life had come a full circle for the family. If you believe in happily ever after, well yes they did live happily ever after😊😊😊😊😊
