Chapter 6: Tied To You

"ah" was all I managed to say as I stared at the genin now in front of me, waiting, which honestly in itself was quite surprising considering naruto was among them. The uchiha could be patient, his two followers could stand around all day staring at him, choji was fine as long as he had food and shikamaru simply rather do nothing, preferably lying down but standing was fine too.

"so?..." asuma asked in a nonchalant manner as she stood beside kakashi.

The masked nin decided to break the awkward atmosphere by clapping his hands which rung loudly in the oddly silent clearing.

He eye smiled "why don't we start now?"

"uuuuugh!" and what a surprise, it was the one and only naruto uzumaki.

"and why are we tied to each other exactly?" sasuke was not the least bit amused, if the deep scowl on his face wasn't enough of a sign.

"yeah, stupid kakashi-sensei!"

The members of team seven were currently tied up together, back to back, much to sakura's great pleasure. That's to say, they weren't the only ones.

"can you stop moving so much, troublesome woman" shikamaru muttered the last part which only caused to agitate the yamanaka even more.

"shut up you lazy ass! how come forehead gets to be with sasuke-kun!?" she squirmed even more in her fit of rage, never really one for patience.

"well, their teammates..." choji trailed off, not really liking the situation himself, he couldn't reach his food!

"urg, shut up both of you!!"

"alright, why don't you all calm down and let kakashi explain" said asuma as he looked at the masked nin, not really knowing himself what he had planned either. Although he could take a wild guess, judging by how much the man loved teamwork.

"hm, your supposed to spar with the opposing team while trying not to escape the rope" he explained with a lazy undertone.

"but usually aren't you supposed to try and, oh I don't know, escape when someone ties you up!?" shouted naruto loudly as he struggled which greatly displeasured his teammates.

"well, yeah, usually. But you never know when a situation calls for you to hold back while still being able to defeat your opponent while being stuck with two other people" shrugged the masked nin as he walked away from he clearing, asuma following along.

Naruto growled at them.

"alright, start!"

"katon: gokakyu no jutsu!" sasuke let out his signature technique, not really finding enough motivation no try and release a more creative jutsu after all the time they had spent just blatantly dodging and attcking.

Choji used his expansion jutsu to largen his foot and propel his team out of the way.

Shikamaru then used his shadow possesion to paralyze team seven, half expecting it to not work like all the other times they have done so, but, to his shock, it worked.

'a trick' was his first thought. But what? kimawari? no, hand signs were unavailable to them, so that cancels out ninjutsu as well, taijutsu is also not possible. Genjutsu? sasuke was an uchiha but, to his knowledge, he had yet to unlock his sharingan. Naruto was hopeless in that area and sakura could only do academy level genjutsu. Maybe they performed a technique when they were distracted? but when? team 7 was as preoccupied as his team.
