In a world where everybody is born with a unique superpower, what is considered normal life?
We'll start with high school, specifically, Brickstone Academy. It's one of the most prestigious schools in the world.
It's different from high school, as it's a boarding school and you can't leave till your 21 years old. However, some students don't live in the allocated dormitories, preferring to live in an apartment nearby, either alone or with friends. Apart from that though it's pretty much the same, to be honest, it's pretty good,The bullying is harsh, however. There are lives on the line if there's not good enough management. I'm not joking. But death here isn't forever. The medical skill level is the best of anywhere, unless an extreme injury has occured (burned to ash, organs liquified, standard stuff,) the victim can be saved within 10 hours. The only true way to die is to ask to not be 'rezzed', which is a common term nowadays. Anyway, back to high school. Let's talk about a year 10 boy named John. His power was extraordinary, his brain was connected to the internet, he also had the ability to hack electronics, and see computer chips around him. Being a master hacker and knowing almost everything is immensely useful, however as it wasn't combat related or physical, so bullies usually picked on him.The bullies took all his money, and almost nobody who cared could stop them. The bullies were the strong, stupid type, mostly using brute force. Super Strength was a lucky power to get, but one bully had it, although that's just it, luck. There is about the same chance of being born in a 3rd world country with little clean water access, than there is of having god level power. He was left for the rest of the day with no food and was starving for the lessons near the end of the day. The 4 bullies came back the following day, approaching John who didn't notice him. This time, something was different, notice how I said almost, nobody could stop them.
"Hey!" the voice came from the blue eyed, pale skinned, brown haired Alex Brown. He was leaning against the corridor's dark grey walls. John turned from placing his maths book in his locker to look at Alex.
Alex was from Liverpool in England. He loved bright clothes, just like the light blue ones he was wearing. He had a strange and rare ability. The power to control and create water. An extremely powerful and useful power. Not only could it blast someone across a city with a single pulse of water, it's sort of like he is constantly carrying an infinitely replenishing water bottle.
Back to the story. John smiled at the sight of Alex. They hadn't seen each other in days, due to Alex being off school sick.
"How are ya!" Exclaimed John. He was relieved that the bullies would not hurt him today
From behind him came a sneeze louder than anything anybody had ever heard. "Get down!" he said, realising it was William Fairbarn. Without a second thought, he put out the barrage of flames that William's power had caused. "Thank you very much." said Will in his Australian but somehow proper voice.
He was brought up in quite a wealthy family, due to his mum being a model and his dad owning an oil rig."Jesus Christ, be more careful next time! There'll be no more water left in the sprinklers, and I can't be arsed filling them all up again!" Alex shouted in a half-jokey voice. He didn't want to offend the new kid who was there watching the scuffle. He gave a slight smile as he said this.
"Thank you, while you were off, it's been Brandon in charge of doing..."
The bullies interrupted Will with a sharp blow to the face. oof
