Prologue
"Adrian! Adriiiaaan!!!" the females screeching woke Adrian up groggily, then a body was sent flying painfully onto his stomach and he shot up, almost dropping the petite female on his lap.
"What do you want Dru?" he growled grumpily as he rolled onto his stomach which sent his friend off the bed with an 'oomph'. This made him chuckle as he watched her get up and dust herself off, then crossed her arms and stamped her foot as she glared at him.
"Well I was going to tell you something involving your mate, but I don't think I will anymore," she huffed then spun on her heel and left his room.
It took a couple of seconds for what she said to register in Adrians still half asleep mind. But when it did he shot up from the bed and stumbled after the little witch, not even bothering to pull jeans on over the boxers he had been sleeping in.
When he caught up to her she was in the living room, sitting on the couch with a defiant look as she flipped through the channels.
"Dru, I'm sorry! I thought you were just waking me up for something...unimportant," he trailed off when she shot him a withering glare.
"I never wake you up for something unimportant," she spat at him with venom.
Adrian raised an eyebrow at her "what about the time you ran in because you couldn't figure out how to work the coffee machine....at 3 in the morning," he asked.
"I really needed a coffee," Dru whispered, trying to remain angry.
"Well then what about the time you ran in at midnight because you saw a spider," Adrian asked with an eyebrow still raised.
"You know I don't like spiders," she stated indignantly.
"Dru, you're a powerful witch, you could have killed it with your mind," he stated back but this time in a 'duh' voice.
"Shut up," Dru mumbled as she sunk into her seat with her arms crossed sullenly.
"Okay, now that we've settled that, tell me about my mate, is she born yet? Where is she? Is she supernatural or human? Who are her parents?" Adrian rattled off questions in a quick succession and he would have continued if Dru didn't cut him off.
"Yes, she was born at 12:43 this morning. She's actually closer than I expected, only in the next town over. She is a witch. Her parents are the Sanderson's, and Adrian, she is absolutely the cutest baby I have ever seen," Dru replied quickly and ended with a happy smile, she was so pleased that Adrian's mate had finally been born. He was like a brother to her so she was happy that he could now be happy.
"Well I have to go see her," he stated as he quickly stood up and made his way to the front door. However when he tried to turn it, it was locked and not even his advanced Alpha strength could open it, which meant that Dru was using magic to keep it closed.
He turned to glare at Dru but she just smirked "okay Adrian I know you're excited but 1, you need to put clothes on if you're gonna go and annoy your mates parents and 2, it is one in the morning and they have just gone through your mates long birth, so I don't think they'll take too kindly to you bursting in now. So, give them a couple of weeks to settle her in and rejuvenate," Adrian was annoyed to realize she was right, and he sulkily sat down on the couch next to her.
"Fine, I'll wait," he grumbled and huffed, crossing his arms in annoyance.
