Adrian stayed with his little mate, stroking her hair gently until she fell asleep and he had the uncontrollable urge to not leave, to just ignore the long and tedious job that he would soon have to face. Closing his eyes he breathed her calming scent in for a few seconds before sighing and slowly standing from his position by the bed.

He didn't want to leave, he didn't want to face his responsibilities. It would most likely require leaving her for a few months and he wished, just for a moment that he wasn't the leader of the Northern States of America, he wished he was just a normal shifter that could then spend time with his adorable mate.

However he knew he would have to leave, and he did so reluctantly as he trudged down the stairs to find Carlisle and Lydie standing on either side of the rogue Thomas.

They looked identical with matching glares and crossed arms. Although panther shifters were extremely caring and touchy-feely, they were also fiercely protective of their family, which Sammi now was.

"Okay explain," Adrian stated crossing his arms and leaning against the doorway that led up to Sammi's room.

"Alpha I swear I didn't know about the other rogues, I didn't even realize I was on anyone's territory until I found Sammi," he explained in a rush and Adrian couldn't stop the growl from escaping him.

He knew he was being irrational but it felt like whenever something concerned his little mate he was irrational. He wasn't sure if he liked it or not. But he wouldn't change it for the world. He'd never want a different mate, or a different reaction to her.

Carlisle laid a hand on his shoulder to calm him and Adrian was brought back to reality, then shook his hand off. "If we take you to the place they broke through, would you be able to recognize their scent?" He asked with a harsh sigh and Tom nodded hurriedly. His brown hair flopping into his face.

"Yes! I've been a rogue for a long time and I know most of the others scents," Tom replied quickly, trying to prove his worth. After spending the day with civilized wolves, he wasn't sure if he could go back to being alone.

"Alright, Carlisle and Ronan, you stay here and look after Sammi. Lydie and Samson, you're with me," Adrian stated sharply after a pause and immediately everyone was moving to get ready. So, no one but Sammi's father saw the small sigh Adrian let out as he stared longingly back at the stairs.

"Alright let's go," he snapped and shook his reluctance off and instead led the way out the door. Trying to ignore the worry building up in his gut, the worry that this was bigger than everyone thought.

So Adrian led the way to border and let Tom shift then scent the area. Everyone watched him closely as he shifted back and frowned slightly.

Tom was confused, the groups scent was familiar, however he had only ever smelt their scents individually and he had only just started smelling them around the US land in the past year, and he told Adrian this.

Now it was Adrian's turn to frown as he thought Tom's words over carefully. It wasn't unusual for rogues to be alone, it was the norm actually. What was worrying though, was that they're scents had only started popping up and that they had randomly joined up to attack a pack. Of course they could have just recently become rogues...but in his gut, Adrian knew that wasn't the right answer.
