5. A Clap of Thunder

''So Dei-Chan, where are we going now?'' I happily chirped while blindly following my teammate. This Akatsuki was not too bad once you got used to it, I have been disconnected from Konahgakure around a half a year now and I have seen and learned so much and so much more quickly too, you could even say they have become like a very strange... kind of a ..Family to me.

''Well, we only have three biju left. We need to get informa-'' he began, but I zoned out around the 'three' as I smelled food and noticed the sweetest little Dango house, so I wandered off towards it. ''Haruka!'' I was brought back to reality by Deidara yelling into my ear, his hand in front of my face.

Without really thinking, I grabbed his hand and practically dragged him over to the Dango house, ''Two servings please'' I stated to the woman behind the counter, ''Yes, right away, take a seat. Oh and enjoy your meal'' the woman replied kindly with a warm smile, looking to my hand, which confused me.

I chose the farthest table from the other customers, sitting down with a bright smile evident on my face. I heard Deidara clearing his throat, so I looked to him as he sat opposite me, raising my brow as I noticed the light pink tinge to his face, ''Why are you pink?'' I asked rather bluntly.

I saw the colour in his face deepen when I pointed it out, so I sniggered. ''Why are we here?'' he stated in monotone with a bemused expression on his face. ''I was hungry, I like dangos'' I explained innocently. ''I am fully aware of your liking Dangos, but you could've at least said instead of grabbing me and dragging me.'' He mumbled quietly.

''Why are you in such a bad mood all of a sudden? If I remember correctly, you like dangos too...'' I taunted slyly, I saw his eyes widen momentarily as he looked away his face deep, very noticeable, red after the comment.

This caused me to smirk, ''I was correct then? You don't seem to even be attempting to deny it'' I joked. Causing him to avert his gaze again. I giggled at this, I enjoyed teasing Deidara; it was really funny and he put up with it.

I was about to continue winding him up when a young waitress appeared with our food, Deidara's eyes shot up and towards her, she couldn't have been any older than me I figured, ''Two servings of Dangos, enjoy your meal'' she spoke quietly and cheerfully, ''Anything else you need?'' she continued.

''May I get some tea, anything is fine. Thanks'' I answered her happily. Deidara was silent, I could tell that the waitress was getting uncomfortable from his staring. I swiftly, slyly kicked him, ''Deidara, Drink?'' I quickly spoke distracting his gaze from the poor girl, ''Uh, what she is having.'' He said pointing at me as he looked back to the waitress.

''Hai, won't be a minute.'' The waitress hurriedly spoke before dashing off. ''Deidara! It's rude to gawk. You startled her.'' I stated accusingly.

''Why so touchy? Jealous or something?'' he innocently teased. ''NO, now you will apologise when she comes back, or I should say if.'' I retorted, rather irritated.

He chuckled at this, ''What'' I mumbled through gritted teeth. ''I will apologise, but I still don't see the problem, it's... natural for a boy to have interest in young, attractive females...'' he had a slight hint of taunting in his tone, ''Shut up Baka.'' I retorted before grabbing a skewer of Dangos, My turn to annoy him...

I slowly opened my mouth, as I pushed the Dangos in, I smirked as I saw his reaction, his eyes darkened slightly and he swiftly turned his head away, face flushing with a rosy colour. I then began to giggle as I secured a single dango off of the skewer of five between my teeth, returning the rest to the plate.

He cleared his throat, turning back to face me with a raised brow, ''What's so funny?'' he inquired, seemingly genuinely unknowing. I recomposed myself slowly before answering ''You know, it has been almost half a year, and I still haven't bothered to work it out.'' I mumbled to myself more than to him as I thought over the last time I had eaten dangos.
