Todoroki Shouto was having a nice morning for once. The reason of this sense of peacefulness was because his 'father' wasn't here. He scowled at the thought of Enji.

Ever since he got his quirk his father had started a harsh training regimen no 4-year-old should ever have to face; he envied his siblings they didn't have to put up with their father on such a regular basis like him. They could play and do things other normal children did. Even his mother was starting to distance herself from him, she doesn't look at him in his eyes anymore, but she at least comforts him after a particularly draining training and tend to his various cuts and bruises.

So, the fact that Enji wasn't at the manor since yesterday evening after he was called for some emergency at the hospital relieved Shouto, he was happy to be completely alone when he woke up. His mother and siblings weren't around either, he had the house for himself and he will enjoy this rare day for as long a he can.

He finished eating his cereals quickly and put the bowl beside the sink, with his small frame he had to lift himself up on his tiptoes to make sure the bowl wouldn't fall. Looking at the kitchen's window, he saw the figure of a housemaid he never really talked to in the gardens, she was watering his mother's blue flowers. She looked kind, he wished she would talk to him but he doubt she was allowed to...He didn't really talk to anyone beside his parents, but then again when his genitor talked to him it was to be reminded that he was his "only Alpha son out of all his Betas children, who will surpass All might". He decided to stop thinking about such heavy matters when he could do nicer things like sneaking out to the the park and hopefully see Izuka, it's been too long since he last saw her, and he missed her deeply.

He met Izuka a nearly a year ago, his mother took him to the park for the first time, there were other children who were playing in a sandbox, he really wanted to join them despite his shyness and quiet nature, but they rejected him, because to them he must have looked weird with his dual hair color and the fact that he didn't speak much, he wanted to cry but his father always told him that crying was for the weak and he wanted to be strong to protect his mother.

He didn't quite remember what happened after the other children yelled at him to leave them alone, because he then ran, ran as far away as he could and then he somehow entered a small clearing in the deepest part of the park. In reality it was really only a 2 minutes' walk from the main park but for a 3-year-old the distance was huge.

When he panted and breathed the air, he smelled a scent that he won't ever forget, it smelled like the blue flowers in his mother's garden with a mix of honey, and when he lifted his eyes, he saw her. She had a flower crown on her braided green hair, the freckles on her face looked like the constellations his mother and him liked to gaze late at night. And her eyes, they were so bright, so green, they looked like pure emerald. So, when she locked eyes with him, his chest felt like it was being squeezed out and he had butterflies in his tummy.
It was a day he won't ever forget, and he will cherish this first memory of her forever, because it was right here and then, when she smiled at him and offered to make him a flower crown, that he gained his very first friend.

Which is why he had to sneak out to see her, the park wasn't really far from his home, and he knew for a fact that she lived 5 minutes away from him, but he couldn't see her anytime he wanted to, much to his dismay because he was homeschooled and he will probably never really go to a regular school.

Shouto snapped out from his internal conflict and decided that it was time to go. He ran to his room to take a small pale green box and a white rabbit plushie from under his bed, he asked his sister Fuyumi to buy it when she went shopping with their mom and then he left his house.
