Rin sat in her desk chair, looking at the mountains of papers that sat before her. Some were partially filled out; some were stacked in categories of classes. She held a pencil in one hand, and rested her head in the other, still not knowing where to start. She had been like this for ten minutes, trying to figure out which class was more important, while also trying to figure out when she should start her chores.
Tick...
Tick...
Tick...
She looked over at the clock that was sitting on her desk before she suddenly picked it up and threw it onto the floor, which caused it to break.
"Good." She said simply.
She stared at the broken pieces with an emotionless expression. She started to think back at how much the clock costed, sighing. She managed to build enough motivation to write her name on the top of her piece of paper. She must have taken five minutes, making her own name look pretty on a piece of paper. She started to realise that the page she was writing on was the draft for her essay and it wasn't going to be handed in.
She placed down her pencil and slammed her open hands on the desk, rattling her tea and spilling a few sprinkles onto spare pieces of paper. She dragged herself up and walked away from her desk. She walked to the door of her caravan while trying to make a perfectly constructed list of her chores in her head. She opened her door and was blinded by the light of the sun. She squinted and tried shielding her eyes, then continued to walk back towards the house. She opened the back door of the house and entered through to the dining room and kitchen. She walked over to the fridge and opened the door, looking in and finding nothing to eat in it. She slammed the door shut, violently.
"Why must-" She started to say but turned around to look at the sink.
Dishes were piled up in the sink and scattered along the bench. Rin stared at the dishes, angrily clenching her fists when her dad walking into the kitchen.
"You couldn't wash them?" Rin asked him.
Her dad barely acknowledged what she said, just simply waving it off before sitting down at the dining room table with a newspaper.
"Have you finished your assignments?" He asked, after a moment, while Rin, angrily, turned the tap on for the sink to wash the dishes.
"Almost." Rin mumbled.
That answer got her father's attention.
"Should you not have them done by now?" He asked.
Rin laughed a short, amused and frustrated laugh, "Well, I would have but unlike some, I actually get this house to a level of a decent place to live in."
Her father looked confused, "What the hell is that supposed to mean? I keep this house stable!"
Rin rolled her eyes, "Really? When was the last time you went shopping?"
"I went yesterday." Her father stated.
"And bought what?" Rin asked, "Smokes?"
"No..."
Rin shook her head, "Whatever."
The room went quiet again before her father spoke again.
"Also, can clean the bathroom and study tomorrow?" Her father asked her.
