Felix turns the camera onto his own face after spinning around a couple of times. Pax is a whirl of color and sounds and Ken chuckles again. The camera is sure to pick up his laugh, and part of Felix's chest tightens as the very idea of editing it in. The deep rich laugh that he has missed much more than he can ever admit. Especially right now.
"Hey bros! It's PewDiePie! And Jack and Mark finally are getting hitched!"
"Hey...spoilers!"
Felix rolls his eyes over at Ken, who is smirking off to the side. His broad arms folded over his chest like a tattooed genie and dark eyes twinkling in the bright overhead lights. Felix twist the camera over to to the raven, and this helps the recording of his cheeks turning pink to be forever in video. The taller man waves as if the lense is an old friend that he hasn't seen for a decade.
Somewhere in the back of Felix's mind, he knows it feels that long since he has seen the other smiles that Ken has made. The shy grin as he slid out of his hotel bedroom as he got redressed. The playful pout as he had pushed the taller man when he tried to sneak in with him into the shower. The predatory leer that Ken always got when between Felix's legs as he leaned in to place that mouth on every part of the tender skin.
"Fe? You okay?"
Felix blinks and connects too late that he has been staring. Lost in memories of fucking because what Ken and him had wasn't love. Even though it really had so many things in common that it had Felix's head swimming.
"Yeah...I'm good," Felix says, the camera aiming back at his face. "So, we're heading over to a few local shops here in town to get a engagement for the lovebirds. Stayed tuned in for more!"
Felix presses the off button on the camera and doesn't look over. He knows what he'll see. The dark brown eyes narrowed in slight concern. The corners of Ken's mouth turned down towards the carpeted floor.
"I'm fine," the Swede says quickly, and points towards a side door. "There's a taxi stand right outside. We can head over. There's a few little shops over by - "
"The downtown district," Ken finishes, and nods his head in agreement. "Yeah, I know. We used to go over there when we used to come to Pax before."
Ken stops his sentence cold, and they both stare at each other for a moment. It's hard to tell who is more unnerved by the conversation. The light airy tone of the plan already becoming much heavier with the past and their future.
"So...we should probably get going?"
Felix nods and leads the way to the cab stand. There is just one driver in line, and Felix hops onto the car and Ken follows him in. The driver looks up and smiles at them from his rear view mirror.
"Where are you guys wanting to go?"
"Downtown district," Felix says. "Near the pizza place off of Central Street."
The driver gives a thumbs up and they are off. Ken tries to busy himself again with his phone, because it's easier to look at the pale blue screen instead of the pale blue eyes. The raven just needs to stay focused on the gift. This is about being there for Mark and Jack. Not trying to figure out whatever these feelings are anymore. To do what he's promised to Mary. Work on becoming friends again, and be okay with that.
