After that, Hermione went to lunch with Draco. She had absolutely no idea Draco had the ability to make her laugh, like Ron. Thinking about Ron made her upset again, but Draco cheered her up.

As they were eating at The Blue Wizard, Ron and Lavender came in, arm in arm. Ron stopped when he saw Hermione and Draco sitting together, joking and talking. He felt a rush of envy and, at that moment, decided to get Hermione back. He dumped Lavender (which was VERY hard) as Hermione and Draco were leaving. He quickly caught up to them.

"Hermione! Fancy seeing you here!" Ron smiled his brightest smile. "How about you and I, you know, go around Hogsmeade together?"

If this was a week ago, Hermione would have melted and agreed in milliseconds. But she was different-- she was no longer fooled. She stared at him for a cold second and said sharply, "No thanks. You had your chance." And walked away.

Ron flushed with embarrassment and anger. He turned to Draco. "Draco Malfoy. This is all your fault. Don't you even dare think about--" Draco cut him off.

"Ronald. Granger and I are just friends. Besides, you had your chance with her. One more thing, I don't want to hear you talk anymore." He finished with a small smile and strolled off after Hermione.

Ron stood in the entrance of The Blue Wizard, red in the face. He couldn't believe what had just happened. After this, he wanted Hermione back even more.
