It's a hard life

Dear diary...
Farrokh is charming.
Last night was lovely, we talked and laughed... it was like I've known him for years... and when Farrokh went back to the stage to perform, he kept looking at me and smiled. I think I am falling for him.

"Cristina!!" He yelled as I was running toward Jane's car.
He handed a paper with his phone number and said,
"I want to see you again, Cristina. Please call me if you do too," he smiled.

But I think I was too busy on falling for Farrokh than actually responding, so I just smiled, said,
"Cheerio!" and walked away.

Sure enough, Farrokh and I went on a couple dates in the next few weeks; we went to eat, walked in the park, and I even went to the bar so I could listen to him sing almost every night, but we hadn't had our first kiss. I didn't feel ready.
I. Just. Didn't.

One night, Farrokh invited me over to his house. He played to me some music, and told me he had to show me something important.

"What do you want to show me, Farrokh?" I asked with curiosity.

"Queen, my love. I want to show you Queen"

"What do you mean?" I was puzzled.

"I want to change the name of the band. Something more... enchanting. Queen, isn't it brilliant?" He chuckled, I could tell he had been working on finding a name for the band, for a while now...

"It sure is, Farrokh" I said with a smile and a chuckle.

"I also wanted you to meet the band members, personally." He opened the kitchen door, and they were all there. "This is Roger, this is Brian, and I am Freddie Mercury" he said completely sure of what he was saying.

I just looked at Farrokh with confusion spinning in my head.
"Freddie Mercury? You are changing your bloody name?"

"I already did, my dear. I'm legally Freddie Mercury. Do you like it?"

"Has a nice ring to it, Farrohk sounded kind of silly"

"Fantastic"

He was leaning to kiss me. I still didn't feel ready, so I just took a step back.

"Why won't you kiss me? Are you scared or something? Darling, don't worry, I don't bite... unless, of course, you want me to..." he giggled.

"Farrokh... I mean, Freddie. I am not ready yet. The time will come, I promise. But you'll have to wait a little bit, okay?" I felt somewhat insecure so I just took my stuff and left without saying goodbye to the band, nor Freddie.

I went home, and while laying in bed, I kept having an issue with myself. I am 22 years old and I'm not mature enough to get over a breakup.
When will it be the right time to kiss Freddie?
He might leave me if he realizes we're not moving forward. I just hope I'm worth waiting for.
