"If this is what counts as a ThunderClan apprentice then, I'm severely disappointed." Thornpaw heard Snakefang say.

"You could say that again, " the she-cat on top of her began leaving Thornpaw to stare at her dumbfounded, "but I guess that's what happens when they have a leader as weak as Brackenstar." As the she-cat talked Thornpaw could feel her anger bubble under her fur, "Poor ThunderClan, once one of the most powerful clans in the forest. My how the mighty have fallen."

With narrowed eyes and a hiss an anger Thornpaw broke free from her shocked state,

"DON'T." Thornpaw began before she racked her front right claws into the she-cat's left shoulder,

"TALK." Thornpaw slashed with her left claws across the she-cat's muzzle when she had her attention.

"ABOUT." Thornpaw pulled her front right claw down and away from the she-cat's shoulder.

"MY." Thornpaw moved her hind legs and pushed with all her might. Making the WindClan she-cat topple over to her side.

"CLAN!" Thornpaw finished talking and looked at the shock face of the she-cat. Thornpaw ear twitched at the sound of snow crushing under foot, then moved in time to barely be missed Snakefang's claws only catching the edge of his middle claw on her upper lip.

Thornpaw moved back around a fox length before the elder's words rang in her ear

".....stay close and agile."

Thornpaw focused back into the battle and moved back in closer to the two warriors before they could rush her like before.

"You're stronger than they are, so use it to your advantage."

In a heartbeat the WindClan she-cat was up lunging at her. For a split heartbeat, Thornpaw was back near the ShadowClan border fighting Leopardpaw, Soulpaw, and Twigpaw with Timberpaw four moons ago.

"STAY FOCUSED." Echosong's words yelled in her ear when Thornpaw pulled herself back in time to react to the WindClan she-cat. Thornpaw reel back on her hind legs and slammed down on top of the warrior before she bit into the she-cat's side. She hears the she-cat let out a loud pained hiss until Thornpaw felt pain ripple through her left hind leg. She let out a pained hiss of her own and went to readjust her grip only to be pulled off of the warrior. Thornpaw twisted under the other warrior before managing to get out from under him. She backed up as far as she could before she felt the undergrowth behind her. Thornpaw glanced back only to see thick brambles, thorn brush, and brackens.

"They are not trained to fight close like we are, you can. If that means taking them farther into the undergrowth then do it. It will keep you from getting hurt."

Thornpaw let a smile appear on her muzzle, "Hey mouse-brains," she called to the two warriors arrogantly, "is that the best you got?"

Snakefang let out a growl and was about to say something, but was cut off by the she-cat, "You have seen nothing yet. Just wait until I get my claws one you." She said with venom dripping off her voice.

Thornpaw forced a laugh as she made herself appear relaxed at the threat, "Really? Because what it looks like to me, is that WindClan has some new kittypet- warriors."

The she-cat didn't get a chance to say anything this time before Snakefang charged at Thornpaw. Before his claws could touch her jerked out of his reach. Thornpaw felt pain ripple out from her right shoulder. She turned to see the she-cat was now aiming another attack, thinking fast Thornpaw scooped up some of the muddy snow under her paws and thought it at her. She felt a tingle of satisfaction as the snow landed in the she-cat's face.
