Hello guys 👋🏻,
Sorry for not uploading in such a long time. I didn't really had the inspiration to write Reddie oneshots, but I try to be more active and upload more often again. Hope you'll enjoy.❤️
Richie laid on his bed, an emotionless expression on his face as he once again tried to ignore the yelling from downstairs.
His parents were fighting, again, and to be honest,
it made him sad.
They never paid attention to what their fights caused.
The only wish Richie had since he was a toddler was for his parents to stop hating each other, but it turned out to be the alcoholism of his father that always brought the little arguments his parents had over the edge.
They barely talked to each other on a sober basis, but the fighting and screaming always started after his third beer when he came home from work.
Richie never really was the kind of person to talk about his worries or problems, which is why not one family member knows what's going on inside their household, or why he never told his parents how he was feeling, because nobody would've listened anyways.
That is what Richie thought.
His best friend, also crush since about two years, Eddie, was the only hope he had. He was the person that made him forget how shitty his life seemed, because when Richie was with him, it never was.
Richie didn't really understand how someone as petite as Eddie could have such a big effect on him, but he liked the butterflies in his stomach when Eddie smiled at him, or laughed at one of his stupid jokes.
It always brightened his days.
He sat up, walking towards the chair in front of his desk to put on the gray hoodie that hung over it. He grabbed his phone and searched for Eddies contact, calling it as he found it. He held the phone against his ear, biting his lower lip as he mentally begged for Eddie to answer.
He smiled from ear to ear as he heard Eddie's sleepy voice.
''What the fuck Richie it's 2 am.'' He groaned, not fully awake yet. Richie quickly opened the door to check if his parents would notice it if he left, but closed the door as they were still arguing, not really caring about being too loud for him to sleep anyway.
''Ed's, would you mind if I came over and sleep at yours? My parents are arguing again, they're waking up the whole neighbourhood.'' He whispered, packing his bag for school whilst waiting for Eddies answer. He didn't think of an answer for too long.
''Yeah, it's okay. Sneak through the window, and be careful. If my mom sees you we're both dead.'' With that he hung up, leaving Richie smiling like an idiot. He quickly threw the bag over his shoulder before carefully climbing out of his window. He inhaled the cold, fresh air as his feet hit the ground. He looked up, staring at the moon for a few seconds before he started to jog towards Eddie's house which gladly was only about 5 minutes away. By now, the only thing left he felt was happiness. He didn't think about his arguing parents anymore, the only thing he thought about was seeing Eddie.
Seeing his bed hair since he just woke up, his cheeks that always turned red whenever Richie looked him in the eyes, or his petite body covered by one of his waayyyyy too big oversized hoodies he usually wears to sleep.
He picked up his pace as he thought about his crush, and before he realised it he stood in front of his house. He jogged around it, barely being out of breath because he was used to doing this often.
He climbed on top of a garbage can, using the pipe that ended right next to Eddie's window to climb inside. He looked around the room, searching for Eddie as he put his bag down, sitting on the smaller boy's bed. The door opened a few minutes later, revealing Eddie exactly as Richie expected him. His slight curls fell onto his face, which reddened as soon as his glance was on Richie. He wore a lilac hoodie, which reached his knees, and long white socks. His lips curled into a warm smile as he closed the door with his foot, two mugs in his hands. He placed them on his desk nearby, and walked straight towards Richie after that, his arms opened. Richie grinned, standing up to embrace the boy that barely reached his shoulders in a tight hug.
''Are you okay?'' He whispered, not wanting to wake up his mother. He rested his head against Richie's chest, listening to his heartbeat. He felt comfortable, Richie's scent driving him almost insane.
''Yeah. How are you?'' He rested his head on Eddies, bending forward to smell the vanilla scent that came from Eddie's shampoo.
It was like nothing ever happened at home before.
''I'm good.'' He mumbled against his chest. He let go of Richie, making the curly haired boy pout as he didn't felt the warmth of Eddie's body pressed against his anymore.
''I made hot chocolate, you want some?'' Eddie smiled, offering Richie a mug which he gladly took. They both sat on Eddie's bed, Eddies head resting on Richie's shoulder whilst they drank their hot chocolate.
''Is it bad?'' Eddie suddenly spoke up, leaving silence in the room for a few seconds.
''As always.'' Richie whispered.
''Do you want to talk about it?''
''No.''
He grabbed the smaller boy's mug and placed it, including his, on the nightstand, before putting his arms around Eddie's small waist, pulling him close as he laid down on the bed.
They intertwined their legs, Eddie cuddling up to Richie.
His slight curls were tickling Richie, but he didn't mind. He caressed Eddie's cheek, placing a strand of hair behind his ear, until the smaller boys breathing became calmer and calmer. Richie placed a quick kiss on Eddies temple, which he was sure would've made Eddie blush if he was still awake.
''I think I like you a lot, Ed's'' was what he whispered before drifting off to sleep, not a single worry on his mind.
