Renjun waited, his legs swinging and hardly scraping the ground as he sipped his strawberry milk, his backpack discarded next to him on the bench. The sun was setting, and he smiled as it sank completely.
The park lights flickered on, and suddenly two hands were over Renjun's eyes. "Nono, what're you doing?" Renjun asked, and Renjun's boyfriend, famous "bad boy" Lee Jeno giggled softly.
"Surprising you baby." He moved Renjun's backpack and sat down next to him, handing him a pack of melon bread. "Here you go, I know you got tired waiting for me to come out."
"I wasn't actually, I just like melon bread," Renjun laughed, stuffing the said bread into his mouth before Jeno could steal any. "Besides I only got here a few minutes ago," he tried to say, but it just sounded like garbled nonsense to Jeno.
"Okay," Jeno laughed, patting his boyfriend's head softly. "I believe you."
"Good," Renjun said around the bread. "I got another lecture today."
"Another?" Jeno looked startled, and Renjun shrugged. "You know, I could just talk to your friends?"
"Really, I don't think you want to." Renjun sipped his strawberry milk some more, musing on the thought. "They're," here Renjun trailed off, trying to think of the word. "Electric?"
"Eccentric?" Jeno smiled, and Renjun nodded.
"I can't believe I forgot that word," he groaned. "Honours classes for senior year are kicking my ass, confirmed."
"Junnie," Jeno said, carding his fingers gently through Renjun's hair. "You're the one that decided to take them. I told you you were going to die."
"Well I'm stubborn and I didn't listen, so now I'm stuck staring at calculus at three am!" Renjun whined, snuggling closer to Jeno. "You know, you missed the sunset."
"I had to finish work!" Jeno swatted Renjun, who just laughed.
"I know! I know! You don't tell me where you work though, I can never come see you!"
"That's because I don't think you'd enjoy my work Junnie," Jeno said softly, pressing a kiss on Renjun's temple.
"I just want to know what you do! You always dress in all black, sometimes you're out of breath and sweaty, and sometimes you say you hurt yourself!"
"I wear black because it's comfortable, you've seen my closet," Jeno laughed, avoiding Renjun's other questions easily. "I have maybe one white shirt, and that's for occasions I need a white formal shirt."
"True, but what if I want to visit?" Renjun pouted.
"You've told me you don't like the kind of place I work because it breeds stupidity."
"That's a lot of places Nono, you're going to have to be more specific," Renjun said, shifting so that his head was in Jeno's lap. Jeno looked down at him with a fond expression then chuckled.
"Pouting will get you nowhere Junnie."
"You know what, fight me," Renjun said, getting up and getting in a fake fighting stance. "I am down to fight twenty five-"
"Eight, I know. You socked me across the face when we met the first time." Jeno stood up and gently pushed down Renjun's fists, stealing a peck from his lips.
"For the last time, that was by accident!" Renjun said, sighing.
"You dislocated my jaw!"
"It's not my fault you look like the asshole who hurt my uncle!"
"I never got how I look like your uncle's ex!" Jeno laughed at the absurdity of the statements the two of them were making, and held out his hand. "C'mon, it's dangerous to be out late at night and it's getting late Junnie."
"Okay," Renjun grabbed his boyfriend's hand and swung it back and forth as they walked through the park. Jeno was surprised that Renjun was even able to find the ends of his sweaters sometimes; they were always giant, at the very least two sizes too big for the small boy, and always resulted in Renjun being engulfed by his shirts.
One time, only once in the year they'd been dating, had Jeno seen Renjun wear something close to fitting, and that once was enough to make Jeno become completely mute for a week and as red as a Cherry Bomb milkshake from Johnny's.
"Nono, we're at the bus stop," Renjun smiled, snapping Jeno out of his thoughts. "You good?"
"We've been dating for an entire year and three days," Jeno said, sounding amazed.
"Yes, that's what generally happens when you're interested in someone and ask them out, and then continue to be interested in them," Renjun teased, making Jeno flush.
"I-I just mean it's been a long time! And your friends still don't want to meet me, and I've never been to your house and -"
"And you know why for all of that, love," Renjun soothed, sighing. "My friends are paranoid jackasses, and my parents are the strictest homophobic assholes ever. I have to ask to hang out with Dahee to go to Donghyuck's house."
"I agree with the paranoid part, but Jaemin's nice," Jeno said as they boarded the bus and scanned their passes, finding two seats. "But maybe soon?"
"I'll talk to Donghyuck and Chenle tomorrow. I'm sure they'll say yes if I cry."
"If you cry - can you cry on command?"
"Yes," Renjun laughed as the bus squeaked to a halt. "Wow, the brakes on this bus make me feel nice and safe."
"Yep, nothing like the squeak of impeding doom," Jeno giggled. Three more stops passed with altogether meaningless conversations, then Renjun presses a kiss on Jeno's cheek.
"It's my stop," Renjun said, and Jeno nodded, pouting a little. "Good night Nono."
"Good night Junnie. Text me when you're home safely, alright?"
"I always do, you know that." Renjun smiled, waving goodbye to Jeno. Jeno didn't feel entirely okay letting Renjun walk home, but Renjun never let him go with him.
Renjun waved to him, smiling widely before walking into the streets. Jeno waved back, plugging in his headphones and listening to music.

So it's a new book... a NoRen book... because Renjun is the easiest to write and I like this idea that hatched.
