The Final Year

The first glimps

As I walk through the door into a crowed cafeteria I think of one thing, Graduation. Ya I know I'm like a year early, but honestly I'm worried I won't make it through this year. But I say that every year so I guess there really nothing to worry about. I walk to the table closet to the stage and sit next to Kenney, Kayley, Maiya, Emily, Alex, Hayley, and Lily.

"Hey yall!" I say as I walk up to the table.

"Rachel I swear it's the first day of school and that country accent and words are already driving me crazy." Maiya says plugging her ears, Maiya moved here from Colorado last year. I guess she is still not used to the Texas way of things.

"Oh my so sorry darling." I said with a southern accent. We all start laughing. I take out my class schedule for the year and compare it. I have one class with kenney, one with lily, two with emily and two with hayley.
"Sweet we have teen leadership/health together this year!" Hayley said doing a dance in her chair. I smiled and looked at kayley, she seemed different I don't know what it was but there was something. "Why you staring at me you lesbian or something?!" There it was.... "whoa...someones on their period!" I said putting my hands up in the air. " well YA and im mad about it... what a great way to start off the year... with my soul emptying out between my legs!" she yelled moving her hands up and down. "Whoa let's keep it rated G here lady's" hayley said laughing. " Ok sense when did we ever try to keep things rated G?!" Kenney said this a confused look on her face. "Um never!" Lily said getting up to sit with her band "friends". the 7:55 bell range and we all got up to go to the gym. I love how we get to sit in the gym this year cause that means during basketball season we get to watch the guys basketball team practice in the morning. "Ok so I have a comment... no a random comment." Maiya said "ok shoot" I said texting while texting Graeme. "I don't know why but I have a feeling that this year is going to be soooo much better then last year." and she was right that was random. " YA me to!" Hayley said skipping up the stairs to the top set of benches. I sat down and pulled out my phone to read my text. "oooo Megan who you texting?!" Kenney said looking over my shoulder. She always makes fun of me when I'm texting Graeme because I used to have a crush on him last year, and plus it was her job to assume that every guy I texted was my "boyfriend". Even though I'm completely single! "None of your bees wax!" I said with a smirk and put my phone in my pocket l. " Ok soo i know we haven't even started school yet but... out of everyone you see here who do you ship me with?!" Kayley said scanning the room for her next as we call it "booty call" " umm how about Logan M." Kenney said patting her head and laughing "Yall are nasty!" She yells " no GURL you nasty" MAIYA says wiggling her finger and walking down the bleachers and out in to the hallway.

~First period~
I walked into class with my blinder to my side. I look around the room to see if emily was sitting. I noticed that she wasn't here yet so I took a seat in the back across from an tall Asin girl. "OMG hi!" The girl says Turing to face me "umm, hi." I said gesturing a shy wave. "Im Joy!" " Hi I'm Megan."i say looking for emily "well nice to meet you Megannnnn!" I just smile in response and make room for Emily.
...
I go through 1,2,3,4th period sitting next to Joy having the most random conversations, about schools, boys, flowers, and how I suck ass at Spanish. She seemed pretty cool!

~lunch~
By the time lunch rolled around I was so tired. I took a seat at our normal table in our normal spot in between the two other groups we by. I placed my stuff on the floor and looked up at an familiar face, but it wasn't too familiar. I don't know where I had seen them before though. I knew they were new to school because I over heard Maddie talking to Delany about him. He was tall, skinny with blondish brownish hair. "Ummm Megan... hello??? MEGANNNNN !" Kayley snapped at my as she took a seat next to me. "Huh what?" I said looking at all my friends who were staring at me with smirks. "Megan?" Emily says leaning closer to table "yesss?" i say in the same time as her " who YA staring at?!" Kenney yells right in my ear " No one... why?"... I swear why do they always assume that I am "in love" with someone 24/7?! " Megan you were starting at.." maiya says gesturing her head his direction. " oh him YALL think I...?! No no no I think I have seen him somewhere before I just don't know where!" I say in a whispered yell " whatever you say" hayley says in a jingled tone.

~teen leadership~
I walk up to the door to see my most favorite coach of all time, coach Flusche, at the door. "hello Megan how are you" she says shaking my hand. "Aloha, im so tired it's not even funny!" I say with a sigh. I take a seat in a chair at an empty table in the back of the room. Hayley then walks in and takes a seat next to me. " Aloha Hayley!" I say pulling out my pencil "Bonjour Megan! how are...." she was about the finish her question when she suddenly stops and smirks towards the direction of the entry way. I look at her weird then turn around in my seat and to my surprise I see the kid from lunch standing in the middle of the room looking for a seat. I look back a hayley was is giving me the "look" "NO! Hayley it's the first day of school and you are already assuming things I don't even know the guy!" I whisper at her. " YA but you said you know him from somewhere!" She yells "sooo..." And that's when I remember where I saw him "I look at hayley with a surprised look on my face "What?!" Hayley says with an accuse tons. "I remember where I know him from!" I say looking at him " where?!" She yells "church!" I say under my breathe looking at her "see its meant to be" she says folding her arms.. this girl I swear she crazy! I look at her with a "are you serious" look on me face and turn to face coach Flusche.

~Science (last period)~
I was so glad to be in science! That's not just because it's my last period but because I'm really good at science... not that we are doing anything today, but I always seem to get fun science teachers so I was expecting an interesting class... and that it was.

~On the bus~
On the bus I didn't really talk to anyone I was to busy replaying the whole day in my head. I couldn't seem to decide if it was going to be a good year or a bad year. It seemed kind of neutral so far. But I can tell you that my friends already think this is gonna be the "best year." Yes, they only thing that because we are seniors and it's our last year.

~later that night~
I sat on my bed reading my friends kenney's latest update in her wattpad story. As soon as I finished it i plugged up my phone and laid down under the covers. still the question good or bad year was in my head. The thing I picture in my head before falling asleep was the smiles of my friends when I first walked up to the table and I thought to me self "Good defiantly good."
