She waited at the kitchen counter as the tea took its own time to brew.
The sound of a hot shower running, a constant hum in her ears, reminded her of his presence.
For the first time in months, they had seen each other in person.
With everything going on, the debacle, the mess, the scandal, she should have been questioning the reason of his visit.
And yet, she couldn't help but be baffled at herself.
For all she could feel was a sense of relief.
A warmth.
