Armen never questioned it.
They lived together as brothers. Neither cared for the other's differences nor faults. Drake being half Endermen was an oddity Armen never considered as weird. That might have been because he never remembered anything else. It might have been because he was conditioned not to even think about it. It might have been because he trusted Drake from the start. Whatever it was, Armen never thought Drake was stranger than any other human being.
Or at least, that was until they met Grayson.
~
Grayson thought it was weird and unnatural.
But, being the overall decent guy that he was, never mentioned it. He suspected it may be a sore spot with the hybrid, and he may have been right. That, and Grayson had already experienced several weird and unnatural things by the time he met Armen and Drake.
And, after living in the new world for over five years, working with a strange creation such as Drake was just another day at the office for him.
~
Mia thought it was freaking cool, but also a bit creepy.
Endermen weren't as common in her world as compared with the old one, but there were enough stories around them to give the general idea. The general idea was that Endermen are tall, imposing creatures that will steal your things and need to be left alone, lest you die at their powerful gaze. Drake, however, was none of these things except tall. And his eyes were a bit weird, yes, but he wouldn't kill you for looking at him. The split in his physical appearance was jarring, but, Mia supposed, there were a lot of worse things to look at.
Then she and Grayson discovered Drake's true past, and Mia suddenly found she could no longer look Drake in the eye.
~
Drake was no longer sure where he stood on his physical appearance.
When he was younger, check, at the very start of his memories, he had found himself detesting his visage whenever he looked in a mirror. Though he knew no-one other than Armen, some part of him told him that he looked just wrong. He was human, wasn't he? Then why didn't he look it? Then Herobrine started to take over his life, and he thought about it no more. He even grew to like being half Endermen, for the advantages it gave him later in life.
Then the day at the Magical Library came, and Drake once again found himself wondering he belonged.
