                                                     CHAPTER 2

Who is the dark shadow that I saw? Right when I woke up, I saw this mysterious shadow on my wall, but before I was able to find out what it was, it disappeared. The birds chirping outside my window brought me back to reality. As the early morning lights softly strikes in my room, I thought about her. I thought about this morning. I thought about the dreams. I've been getting the dreams since last week. Ever since I saw those two little girls on the playground chasing each other that reminded me of how we used to be. Happy. I have been getting the dreams lately. They were somewhat like last week... Like someone is losing something important. Whatever. It's just a dream... Right?

What time is it again? I look to my right as my alarm clock is sitting on my bedside table. Oh... It's only 9:00. I rushed to take a shower and dress up so that I am not late to breakfast. Meanwhile, the question was still pondering in my head. Loss. Am I missing something? This dream... why now... out of nowhere?

I was just in time for breakfast. My mother was still in the kitchen while my dad sipped coffee as he looked through the newspaper. I know I must ask him something. He was so busy yesterday... Never had a chance.

As I sat down eating my pancakes, dad started speaking, "Jessica, I know that music is your life. So, me and your mom were planning this. Kiddo, we are thinking of sending you to music school this summer. The name is Eastman School of Music. It is good, but the only problem is it's in Italy. There is no problem actually, if you wanted to stay with your grandparents cause the school is very close to their house. I know this is a big step and a big decision to take. Which is why I am giving you time 'til tomorrow to think, but you need to tell us by tomorrow night".

I was just so shocked. I mean they did support me when I was selected for my school contest and went to the nationals. But this is bigger than that. I have heard a lot about the school, Eastman School of Music. It was kind of my dream.
