"I can't believe you, we're going to the beach and you're playing cards with my boyfriend..." you said a little sulking, sucking in a sharp breath upon placing a foot in the cold water.
"Mmh? Jealous much?" she grinned, taking a few steps back and running into the water and diving in. But it was true. You really were looking forward to spend time with him because lately you haven't.
But it's not like you actually made efforts to do something with him today. Looking at his half naked body revoke memories that currently are too much for you.
"You know, the water won't get any warmer sometime." the blonde was already in pretty deep. Now you too, took a few steps back before running in. "Isn't this a nice view?"
"Well, I've seen prettier beaches but it's okay."
"Who's talking about the beach?!" she smirked, pointing to the guys now again playing volleyball, of course with only their swimwear on, presenting their muscles glistening with sweat.
You splashed her with water.
"Maybe it goes without saying but..." she carefully but earnestly said "Right now I'm not only your friend, but also a substitute for your family. So, if there's anything on your mind say it, I'm here to help you."
Despite her usual easygoing nature, she truly cares for you. If it wasn't for her, your parents wouldn't have allowed for you to come back to Japan.
"Honey, you can't live there alone!" your dad said back then, already annoyed of the long argument that you've been having.
"But you already had allowed me to stay there alone for half a year back then!"
"That was different." he crossed his arms, your mom just sipped her coffee while nodding.
"How so?! I'm older and more mature, besides I know the city already,-"
"And Tōru lives next door..." your mom decided to settle this. "Two teens reunited after a year, madly in love, with a house where you're living alone... I don't think I need to explain our concerns about this."
"Then what if I moved in too?" Stella was over at that time. You had told her to stay inside your room, yet she now too joined the discussion. "I'd love to go abroad for a while, if this makes you feel better then we're all good right?"
Surprisingly, this was all it took to win them over.
"Thank you."

Nightfall came and after the barbecue, you've been all grilling marshmallows together, chatting away happily.
After a while you noticed Iwaizumi was gone and you began to look for him. After just a short stroll you found him close to the water, admiring the moon's reflection glistening in the ocean.
"What are you up to?" at your sudden voice he seemed to jolt.
"Sorry, I didn't hear you coming."
"Nothing you have to say sorry for."
"I just wanted to be alone for a bit, but I'm fine, it's nothing really." so he said but his words were dripping with loneliness.
Knowing why, you launched at him, pulling him into a hug.
"I know you miss her, but it will end some day, you'll be fine and Tōru and I will always be there for you because we love you too! Always! No matter what happens, until the day we die!"
"Don't talk about dying, honestly..." whenever he thinks back to the day when you ran up to him and randomly asked him to be friends, he can't help but smile. He's glad he accepted, because you and Oikawa give him the feeling he can actually get over her. So he stood up and patted your head. "Thank you."
You both made their way back to the others. He thought that if he had you and his best friend, he can overcome anything.
"I brought Iwa-chan back!" you called out towards the others while running ahead towards them. They revealed wrapped boxes from their backs and all started yelling
"Happy birthday Iwaizumi!"
You looked at his face and you could see how he was close to crying. "Thank you, everyone."
