Chapter 7: rest and resolutions

All of the students were sitting at the table, eating what had been cooked by RNJR. They had some laughs whilst having their conversation.

"How do you lose your map at a time like that?!" Yang asked Jaune.

"Believe me, I've asked myself the same thing ever since" Jaune sighed, earning a laugh from Yang and Weiss.

"Hey, but you made up for it, Mister Muscles!" Nora joined. "You shoulda seen this guy take a giant Grimm head on!"

"I couldn't have done it without Ruby wearing it down" Jaune added.

"Uh, me?" Ruby scoffed. "Did you see Ren during that fight? He was out of control!"

"I'm sorry, I may have lost my temper momentarily" Ren cringed.

"No, no! Out of control as in 'awesome'" Ruby explained.

"Oh" Ren pauses for a minute before saying... "Thank you"

Moments later...

"You did not!" Ruby gasped.

"Yep, right in the middle of the party" Weiss sighed.

"Let me tell ya, that bitch kind of deserved it for insulting Vale" Paikris laughed.

"Please tell us you let that lady have it" Yang hoped.

"Of course not!" Weiss answered. "Even if I really wanted to"

"No way. I don't believe it" Nora crossed her arms, soon turning to her right to find the same Grimm that Weiss summoned accidentally at the fundraiser, making Nora scream and fall out of her seat. Everyone, even Ren, laughed at Nora's little slip-up.

"Believe us now?" Paikris asked.

Moments later...

Everyone gasped in awe at Jotaro having a new hand.

"It's no replacement for the real thing, but I'll make sure to use it to its full potential" Jotaro explained.

"That's amazing" Jaune gawked.

"Incredible" Ren agreed.

"And it's just as strong?" Amity asked, poking the hand.

"Not only that, it's an old friend of ours" Jotaro smirked.

"What do you mean?" Ruby asked.

"He means me" Penny voice sounded through the hand, making everyone, except Yang, stop what they were doing. "Salutations, friends!"

"Penny?" Ruby gasped.

"Yes, I'm back! Are you happy to see me again?" Penny asked.

"Penny..." Ruby trailed off. "...of course I am! It's so great to see you again!"

"I'm sorry if I'm just a hand" Penny apologised.

"It's fine, we're just happy you're still with us" Amity smiled.

"Also..." Nora grinned, setting her arm on the table in an armwrestling position. "-you wanna bet that it's as strong?!"

"Oh, you're on" Jotaro chuckled.

"Nora, please, now's not the time-" but it was too late for Weiss to finish her sentence. Jotaro and Nora were already at it. Everyone cheered for Nora and Jotaro separately.

"Come on, Jo. Surely you can beat a girl in a skirt" Amity chuckled.

"Amity, Ruby's wearing a skirt, and I still remember when she kicked your ass" Paikris sighed.
