Chapter 4 - Perfume

It was midnight and Taeyong was laying in his bed, eyes wide open. He could hear the slow breathing of his roommate a little further that had finally fallen asleep. He had spent the evening whining about the fact that he ended up with Johnny.

However, Taeyong was keeping this ball of anguish that radiated deep down inside of him .

He sigh, hearing the lycans laughing and shouting in the next room. He was scared, he couldn't help it.

Someone knocked on the door which startled the two friends.

"Ahhh I was sleeping !" screamed Ten putting his pillow on his ear. "LEAVE US IN PEACE!"

"We must meet ! You both have to go down !"

Johnny's voice rang out in the little room.

"IT'S MIDNIGHT ! STOP HARASSING US"

Ten turned around, putting his blanket over his head to go back to sleep.

"Just sleep" he said. "They can't enter the room don't worry."

Taeyong heard the voices of the students in the distance. He straightened up, clutching his legs against himself to listen. He jumped hearing someone knocking on the door once again but with much more insistence this time.

"You must go down, it's a general meeting."

This voice was different from the first one. Taeyong shuddered as he recognized Jaehyun's.

"I'm going to kill them," Ten growled, getting up.

He stiffened as he heard a mournful siren echoing through the building. They both froze for long seconds.

"What is it ?" asked the vampire, switching on the light of his bedside seeing Ten's worried eyes.

"Dress up, we have to go down."

Hundreds of students were huddled together in the entrance hall. Ten grabbed Taeyong's arm not to lose him as they walked through the crowd. The alarm was deafening everyone and the last stragglers were arriving when all the teachers were standing in line showing visibly worried faces.

"What's going on ?" Ten asked, leaning toward a third-grade wizard.

The latter just ignored him, rolling his eyes.

"Uh we really are surrounded by rude people," he whispered, clutching Taeyong's arm.

Ten's eyes fell on the pack of lycans that was quite close. He made a sign to Johnny who approached in a flash, pushing everyone along.

"Do you know what's going on ?" Ten asked, tiptoeing to reach the wolf's ear.

"I don't know, but it looks pretty serious," said Johnny.

Soon the rest of the pack arrived which stiffened a little more Taeyong who was already petrified.

The vampire looked up for a moment and he saw that Jaehyun was staring over all those heads, probably looking for some information.

"The director is going to speak," he said, standing next to Taeyong, who wrinkled his nose.

He stood on the tip of his toes, trying to see something, but the imposing size of the vast majority of the creatures wasn't helping him. He put his sleeve against his nose, trying to forget the horrible smell of those dogs that were next to him.

A man who looked quite old climbed a few steps up the main staircase so everyone could see him. He was wearing trousers and he seemed to come straight from another era. The alarm finally stopped, relieving everybody's eardrums, while a hubbub emanated from the students who were moving against each other.
