The next day, Lei and I drove about an hour away from my mom's house for our first apartment tour. It was located right off of one of the main roads in our city, Minneapolis, Minnesota. It wasn't as big as we were looking for, and the kitchen had no island counter. We swiftly dismissed that one as a possibility and thanked our guide before heading out to the next tour we had scheduled.

Our next option was a house, located right outside of the city. It was perfect.

"I am absolutely in love with this place," I whispered to Lei after finishing the tour. We had excused ourselves to one of the bedrooms so we could confer.

"I am too, it's huge and gives us the perfect space for maybe even two more roommates!" she responded.

I grinned and laughed at her, "Let's not get ahead of ourselves but it IS in our price range too."

"It's perfect dude." I nodded back at Lei before walking back out to our guide.

"How soon can we get moved in?" I asked.

"As soon as you want to," he responded, "it comes with all the furniture you see here, and all the information about the billings and such will be mailed to you as soon as possible. I will have one of my associates bring out the contracts and paperwork tomorrow."

"Oh, wow, okay then," I turned to Lei, "I guess we can cancel our other tours today."

Lei responded with a little hop and the clapping of her hands. I thanked the man and lead him to the door before returning to Lei.

"We should probably tell my mom that I'm moving out," I chuckled.

"You think?"

We got back into my car and mapped my mother's house before heading back. As always, Lei took the aux. I allowed myself to hum along to the music this time though, because I was in such a great mood. I feel like this is the first step in finally acting like a mature 21 year old woman. It was about time too.
