Chapter 3 "Day After"

The day after the stake out, Y/N was still pretty shaken up. The whole situation was intense, and he didn't want to lose his partner on his first day. After they left he had no clue on how Rosa was doing, he was hoping to see her at work. Y/n did his usual routine and got ready to leave for work.

As Y/N entered the office he was greeted by Gina, she was on her phone but she knew it was him. He passed her and went over to his desk to sit down, he didn't feel like talking much today. Y/n glanced over at his partners desk only to find it empty, this did sadden him, maybe she wasn't feeling great, maybe yesterday was a bit much for her.

Y/n noticed Captain Holt in his office, he decided he needed to talk to him, so he did just that. He slowly walked over to the office door before knocking, the man opened.

"Yes?" Captain Holt said, before noticing it's Y/N.

"Ah Detective Y/N, great work yesterday. I heard what happened." Y/N nodded before saying.
"Yes, about that, do you happen to know why Rosa didn't come in today?" Captain Holt, put his pen down and leaned back in his chair. "She called in sick today, though i highly doubt that, the events that happened yesterday could have easily shaken any one of us."


"Would you mind if i brought her something to eat? If she is sick, i'd like to bring her something. Yesterday was tough on us both." Captain Holt looked at the time before looking back at Y/N 

"Sure, though do you know where she lives?" Y/N shakes his head. "Right, well i shouldn't be telling you this information but, here." He gave him the address and nodded at Y/N.

"Take your time, you've earned it." 


As i was cruising down the street in the PD's vehicle, i stopped at the apartment, i made a stop to some soup shop, i got out the car with the bag in my hand and began making my way to the apartment. Room 302. I knocked on the soon later i heard shuffling in the apartment, as the door opened and Rosa stepped out in a blouse, and some black pants.

She looked surprised as she looked at him, then at his hands. "Why are you here? And how do you know i live here?" She questioned as this was unusual.

"Captain Holt said you called in sick today, so i thought i'd bring you some soup. And well yesterday wasn't the best of days, and i wanted to release some of that tension." Rosa was taken back by the act, she wasn't used to nice behavior like this, this certainly made her some what happy. "Thanks.....you can come in if you'd like." Y/N looked at the bag before he looked back at her. "I'd love to, but i still need to get back to work, hope you get well soon." He gave her the bag and began walking.

"Wait!" She yelled. "How much do i owe you?" Y/N looked back and smiled. 

"Don't be silly, it's on me..." Rosa put the bag on the ground before slightly stepping out of her apartment.

"How about we grab a beer when i get back, least i can do." Y/N nodded and said.

"I'd like that, hope to see you soon Rosa." He smiled and walked down the stairs to his car and drove off.


Rosa stepped back into her apartment, closed the door and leaned against the door...she had a smile on her face, something that was unusual. She looked into the bag to find a note with "Get well soon! - Y/N" She took the note and placed it on her counter.
