All my characters and ideas in my story are purely from my imagination, everything's a work of fiction.

After dealing with the death of their mother, life becomes rough for 14-year-old Deborah Hill and her family. As summer begins, their father is sent on a business trip while Deborah and her little sister Olivia spend two months with their aunt, Susan Hill, whom they've never met before. Despite their aunt's friendliness, the girls feel out of place in the small town of Emercaster.

Things soon let up when Deborah soon befriends an amicable yet eccentric girl at an art club. Olivia seemingly finds a friend as well, though Deborah assumes her sister's new playmate is an imaginary friend made to help her cope. That is until things slowly take a peculiar turn. Things turn on and off by themselves, fires ignite in random places, and strange voices are heard at night.

Before long, Olivia starts behaving oddly, too. It's upon these occurrences Deborah realizes her sister's "playmate" might not be so imaginary after all. Her new friend-who's got a thing for the supernatural-offers to help Deborah figure out what's going on.

What they uncover is a terrible story that's bigger than they could have imagined. As things worsen, it's clear that Olivia is in danger and Deborah learns that she may be the only one who can put a stop to this madness.

Will she be able to save her sister from a sinister fate? Or will it be too late?
