Marinette's POV

A week later, I returned to school. I had spent most of that week talking to my parents, a therapist to talk about what I was feeling, and saw a doctor to deal with everything that was still hurting. I felt better, but I was still so nervous for school and everybody's reactions. I woke up the morning of school to see I had gotten a text from Adrien an hour ago. I opened the text to see what he wanted.

Adrien: I'm driving you to school today. I'll be at you house at 7:25

I groaned, and turned to look at my clock. It was 7:15 which meant I only had ten minutes to get dressed, do my hair, get my bag packed, and eat something. I practically bolted out of bed. I decided on simple ripped jeans, a butterfly t-shirt, and my Nike Air Force sneakers. 7:18. I ran to the bathroom to take a peek at my current hair situation. My hair didn't look terrible down, and I also still had a bit of a hickey that I needed to cover. I fixed the part of my hair. 7:20. I raced to my  closet to grab my backpack to shove all my textbooks in there. 7:22. I ran down the stairs to grab a croissant off of the kitchen table. 7:23. I took a moment to breathe and collected myself. My mother appeared in the doorway. She smiled weakly before coming to give me a hug.

"Are you really sure that you want to go back? You can take a few more weeks," my mother asked after pulling away from our embrace.

"Don't worry, mom," I began. "I'll be careful, and I have lots of friends who have my back."

She hesitated, and I knew that she didn't want me to go back. I smiled at her reassuringly even though I wasn't that confident in going back myself.

My mom opened her mouth like she was going to argue, but was interrupted by my phone buzzing. I picked it up after giving her an apologetic look. It was a text from Adrien.

Adrien: I'm here whenever you're ready

I smiled at my phone, then looked at my mom.

"My ride's here, so I have to go," I kissed her on the cheek, and started to leave.

She yelled to me, "If you need anything, just call me. I'll be here all day, so just call me."

I gave her a thumbs up as I walked out to the bakery. I looked at my dad who was making macarons. He looked up at me, and walked over to give me a hug. He pulled away, and just looked at me for a minute. He took the whole situation awfully. My dad was a gentle giant, but you didn't want to piss him off in any way at all.

"Be strong, honey," he encouraged.

I nodded knowing that if I opened my mouth, I'd cry and chicken out of going back to school. With greeting my parents over with, I walked out of the bakery. I looked to my left to see a black town car with the window rolled down. I walked over, and sat in the back of the car. I looked over at a sympathetic-looking Adrien. He looked like a sweet badass, which made me smile.

"Hey," he smiled softly.

I smiled back before returning the greeting, "Hey."

The rest of the car ride to school was him and me talking about how I have been mixed with a few questions about how he's been. When we got to school, I walked beside Adrien with my head down. I could feel the stares and hear the whispers. I hated the attention. I got a giant hug from Alya and a fist pump from Nino when we got to the classroom. I looked around the classroom in search of Nathaniel to find him missing; I sighed in relief. Adrien and I then went to our seats right as the bell rang.

"That wasn't too bad, was it?" he asked with a light nudge to my ribs.

I giggled and nodded. Too soon had Adrien spoken. After ten minutes of taking notes, the class was interjected with an announcement.

"Could Adrien Agreste come to the main office. Adrien Agreste to the main office, thank you," the lady said over the intercom.

Everybody's gaze floated over to Adrien. Some people even let out a "oohh, he's in trouble!" Adrien shrugged and stood up to make his way out the door. Before he could leave, there was another announcement.

"Marinette Dupain-Cheng to the main office. Marinette Dupain-Cheng to the office, thank you," the lady announced.

Eyes roamed toward me and whispers started up. My cheeks burned red as I made my way to the door after Adrien. We walked in silence to the office. I held my breath the entire time. Why was I called into the office? What did they want? Why was Adrien going to the office? Were we going for the same reason? I didn't have anymore time to generate questions because we walked into the office. One of the ladies who worked in the front pointed us towards the principal's office. Adrien walked in first, and held the door for me. When I saw who was sitting in front of Mr. Damocles' desk, I froze.

Nathaniel sitting there smirking made me realize what this was about. Adrien guided me to a seat before sitting in is own. He sat between Nathaniel and me, and glared daggers into the guy.

"Do you guys know why we are here today?" Mr. Damocles asked the three of us.

Nobody dared to speak and we sat there in silence for a few seconds.

"We're here because Nathaniel tried to rape Marinette and I sent him to the hospital for being a dick," Adrien explained.

He stared straight into Mr. Damocles' eyes as he said that. I shivered at that awful word. I looked up to Adrien who simply held my hand in his.

"Is that true Ms. Dupain-Cheng?" Mr. Damocles asked shocked.

I looked up at Adrien as if I needed some confidence. I turned to my principal and nodded.

Mr. Damolcle then turned to Nathaniel in shock to hear what he had to say. But I tuned out the entire thing. This thing wasn't supposed to be a huge deal. I can't believe that this turned into a school matter. I looked up at Adrien and he just squeezed my hand tighter. I don't know what I would have done if Adrien wasn't here.

I squeezed back.
