Marinette's POV

I walked down the hall with my head low. I hated this, I hated this, I hated this. I'm so dumb. I can't believe that I actually did that. It's not okay how stupid I am.

You're probably wondering my I'm ridiculing myself. I forgot my contacts. The things that help me see. Basically, I'm blind without them. So I am practically blind as I try and maneuver to my locker. I woke up in a rush, and didn't get my contacts. Thankfully for me, I always keep a pair of glasses in my locker. As I approach my locker, I sigh in relief. I'll actually be able to see. I put the glasses on and walked confidently to class.

As I made my way to my seat, I got a few looks, but nothing too major. Then, a laugh that sounded more like a cackle. I looked over at the source of the laugh to see a certain blonde girl. Beside her stood a a snickering red headed minion. I ignored them—they were probably laughing at somebody else. I simply sat in my seat, and began to get all my materials out.

"Oh, Mari-trash," a bratty voice called from the front of the room. "Where did you get those glasses? My dead great-great-great-great-grandma?!"

That comment was followed by more of her cackles and Sabrina's snickers.

When Adrien came into the room though, that all stopped. Adrien gave her a look before joining me in the back. We both greeted me each other and I would normally start a conversation, but what Chloe said really stuck with me. She was right, I probably looked ridiculous. I pulled my phone camera out to prove that I did look dumb. I took the glasses off and was greeted by a blurry mess. I ignored my blindness, and continued on getting all of my materials out. I felt Adrien's eyes on me, but didn't want to turn to see if I was right; I mean, I was blind enough that I probably wouldn't even be able to see.

The bell rang, and we started class. I couldn't see the board for the life of me, and just ended up zoning out the entire class. I'll just get the notes from Alya, I thought to myself.

As class was more than halfway over, a bell sounded and there was a flashing light in and outside of the classroom. It was a fire drill. All of the students stood up and began to leave—as they should when there's a fire or drill. I went out the way Adrien did, but tripped over my own foot. Thankfully Adrien caught me.

"I need my glasses," I told him.

His blurry outline shook his head, "We can't now, but we'll get them back when we get back inside."

"But I can't see shit without my glasses," I whispered to Adrien's figure.

He—or somebody else for all I know—grabbed my hand, and began to drag me out of the classroom.

"Just stay very close, and you'll be okay," he assured me.

I simply nodded as we made our way to the courtyard in the front of the school. The fire marshal—or what I'm pretty sure was the fire marshal—gave us the go, and we went back into the school. Adrien didn't ever let go of my hand.

We sat at our desks, and went back to the lesson. I felt Adrien's gaze, and decided to turn and look.

"Can I help you?" I asked him.

He whispered, "I just want to know why you took your glasses off in the first place if you're that blind."

I blushed. I didn't want him to know why. He would probably think I'm lame or something.

"Did somebody say something?" he asked which shocked me.

I hesitated before nodding slowly. He sighed in reply to my nod. The bell rang moments after, and I shuffled to put away and find my stuff. I was about to leave when Adrien grabbed my face. He then slipped my glasses on my face. I could finally see his sheepish, shining smile.

"I don't care what anybody says," he began, "I think that they are adorable and suit you."

He then walked away. I walked after him with a newfound confidence in my glasses.
