Chapter 2 - Patrol

Leonardo's P.O.V

We ran out of the sewers, going topside. Raph like usual is ahead, ready for action and us close behind. I take in the air of the city. I never realized how much I missed New York. It's busy streets, the tall buildings, and the people.

*A few hours later*

Mikey: Cowabanga!
I hear Mikey yell while we jump from roof to roof.
Leonardo: Mikey we're supposed to be quiet!
Mikey: haha sorry Leo
We stop for a few to catch our breaths.
Raphael: ARRHH! It's been hours and still nothing to beat up 
Raph stomped on the concrete out of rage. Do these people know what the word quiet means?
Leonardo: guys we're ninjas and ninjas are meant to be silent
The hard headed turtle rolled his eyes while Mikey just decided to hang upside down on a water tower pole. I lean back on the water tower and sigh. I looked over at Donnie who is adjusting his night vision googles.
Donatello: so Leo wha-
Leonardo: shhhh did you hear that?
I put my hand in front of him, indicating to stay put. I'm sure I heard a rustle nearby. As I stare at each one of them, a gun fired in the background. We ran to the other side of the rooftop to hide in the shadows. Even though we've been separated for years, we still think the same. I looked down to find the Purple Dragons, they weren't alone though. The darkness of the night wouldn't let me make out who the strangers are. Suddenly, they jumped underneath a light post... FEMALE MUTANT TURTLES!!!

Not one, not two or three but four! The baby blue masked turtle was the first one to catch my eye. Her mask formed into a long braid along the back and she wields tessens.

Mikey's P.O.V

Mikey: OMG! Am I dreaming or are there four, beautiful girl turtles right there!
I'm really trying to whisper but my rush of excitement is through the roof. My eyes kept following an specific one. She wears a pink mask that has two separate braids and she uses a matching pink jump rope as her weapon... that's so cool! One of the Purple Dragons went to punch her but she back flipped, dodging the attack and round house kicked him. Man, I almost feel bad for those guys. The girl with a red mask gave the last member a hard kick in the gut knocking him out of consciousness and probably broke a few of his bones considering I heard a cracking sound.
Mikey: wow!
I realized I yelled a bit too loud hence the turtle with the baby blue masked turned her head towards us. My brothers yelled my name in unison and Raph slapped the back of my neck.
Blue turtle: we've been spotted!
Leonardo: follow them
As the group of girls started fleeing, we ran after them.

Raphael's P.O.V

They're pretty fast, I'll give them that. They took us through a maze of dark allies to make us loose track of them but that's child play. It's not going to work on us. After a while they climbed a building and continue running along the rooftops. I noticed the pink one is starting to fall behind a little. The red one noticed as well and quickly went to her side protectively. I managed to get close enough and jumped with my hands extended. I was about to grab the pink turtle but the red turtle got in between and ended up tackling her to the ground instead.
Red turtle: get your hands off me!
Raphael: not gonna happen doll
I held her arms and legs against the cold ground as she gave me a death stare.

Her teammates were about to attack but Leo and the rest got in the middle just in time.
Blue turtle: let her go
I stare at all of their faces. They all seem genuinely worried but they might be working for one of our enemies.
Leonardo: first things first! Who are you and who are you working for?
Blue turtle: we don't work for Shredder or Nayichu if that's what you're worried about
Donatello: and why should we trust you?
Purple turtle: we have no reason to lie when our sister is being held hostage

Leo looked at me and I nodded. I got off her and let out a hand, which she didn't take. She picked up her kurasigamas and growled while walking over to the others.
Leonardo: how do you know Shredder?
Blue turtle: he's friends with an enemy of ours
They look trustworthy but I don't trust anyone until they actually prove it.
Pink turtle: what are your names?
Mikey: oh, my apologies for my bad manners and my brother tackling your friend. My name is Michelangelo but you can call me Mikey and these are my brothers
There he goes, exposing us with his hot shot attitude.
Leonardo: I'm their leader, Leonardo or Leo
Donatello: Donatello, Don or Donnie is fine
They all looked at me.
Raphael: Raphael...
Mikey: but you can call him Raph as well
I crossed my arms. I don't want any ties with any of them even if they're allies. We do just fine on our own.
Leonardo: what about y'all?
Venus: I'm their leader, Venus de Milo but Vee or Ven is good too
What a coincidence that both leaders wear blue bandanas.
Amoly: my name is Amoly but my friends call me Amly
Her cute but annoying tone of voice and energy reminds me of Mikey.
Talena: n-nice yo meet you all, I'm Talena... but um Taly is fine
She seems like the more quiet and calmed one of the group.
Larota: Larota, but I go by Lara
Her, something about her makes my stomach hurt. I have a feeling that me and her won't like each other, I can already tell. She's been staring at me this whole time with those piercing, yellow eyes. But I keep loosing focus since I feel like her massive chest keeps staring at me too.

Venus: well we sure didn't expect to find our doubles over here, specially when we're both against Nayichu and Shredder
Leonardo: so you guys are new here, huh?
Amoly: yup! We just moved from Ja-
The one that they call Larota covered the girls mouth before she could say another word.
Larota: excuse the loud mouth of my sister. We would really like to stay and chat but it's getting late and we have to head back
She pushed the rest of her comrades to the opposite direction. Their leader stopped her and started whispering between one another. Me and Donnie exchanged looks. The leader fixed herself and walked towards us again.
Venus: I'm sorry but Lara is right, we must head back now
Leonardo: hold on a minute, I would like to know more about this so called Nayichu
Venus: oh uh...
Mikey: you can come to our layer, where it's safe and we can talk there
Amoly: I like that idea!
Venus: well I... ugh alright
Larota: Venus!
Raphael: Leo!
Is he seriously planning on bringing strangers into our safe, secret layer?!
Leonardo: well then, follow us. I assure you we mean no harm, we just want to talk
The girl group started following us back home. This is going to turn out bad, I just know it! Just wait until master Splinter hears about this.
