"Mom! I am going."

I yelled as I took the toast from the table, hurriedly launching towards the door. Apparently I was late for school. Well it's nothing new. I always wake up late due to my friend, Netflix. In the morning I go to school looking like a zombie.

"Honey, you didn't even had your lunch." My mom said, worry evident in her eyes.

"Mom, don't worry I will be fine."

"But-"

"Bye mom, take care." I said as I ran out of the door, not forgetting to kiss her cheeks.

I saw my best friend Anna waiting for me in her car looking like a train had wrecked her. I opened the door and got into the car, quickly buckling my seatbelts.

"What happened?" I asked her even though I probably knew what's the matter.

"Neil broke up with me." She said as the cadence of her voice became lower.

I knew it!  I mentally rolled my eyes.

It was obvious. I knew that something was fishy with that guy. He literally was behaving like an angel before they started dating. However, when Anna accepted his proposal he turned into a demon. He became more possessive about her and controlled literally whatever she did. Poor Anna (not really) was so oblivious, she couldn't see his true self. I warned her about him but she said I was over thinking. We even fought because of him. I am kind of glad they broke up but I feel pity for Anna.

I hugged her and patted her back even though it was hard doing it in a car.

"He is such a liar." She sobbed.

"It's okay. It's his loss he lost you."

"I don't wanna go to the school and face him."

"You can't skip school because of that. You must prove him that he doesn't effect you. That would be the perfect lesson for him." I said as I gave her a small smile to which she nodded. I knew she is gonna get over him soon but as her bestie I need to give her support.

"Let me drive." I said as I unbuckled my seatbelt and got out of the car. After exchanging our seats we drove off.

"Come on." I said as I got off the car, both of us running like mad people on run.

I ran through the corridor, ignoring my shoelaces which were dangling in the air as I was sprinting. And so I tripped and fell on the floor. What a good way to start school!

"Ma'am, may I come in?" I said as I stood in front of the class room door. I was ready to get scolded. You see Mrs. River, our science teacher can't tolerate people who are not punctual so I knew today was really not my day.

The whole class stared at me, waiting for what creative excuse will I make today. After all, I am late for most of the days due to the Netflix session at night.

"Care to tell why are you late, Miss?" She asked me in an annoying tone.

"Sorry ma'am, there were some problems."She rolled her her eyes clearly fed up with my response.

"Detention after class."

I groaned as I limped towards my bench, sitting on it with a thump. My knees were hurting so much. Why do I have to come to school again? Oh yeah, to build up my future. The class started and the teacher started to discuss about very boring things which I was definitely not interested in. Not even a bit.

"May I come in?" Someone interrupted the boring lecture.

"You must be the new student. Why are you late?"
