Today is the day, though. The day we finally escape. It's 22:43 and Cay and I make our way to to the hangar. Our craft is still there, the one we used all those years ago.
You would think that the escape might be hard, considering this is a prison on the moon, but remember our little necklaces?
They're more than just necklaces. They're incredibly handy little things, bypassing Beholder security, and equipped with trackers that can only be traced by Pyro computers.
And they're our only personal belongings.
Cay looks at me with his huge, innocent blue eyes.
"On Earth, where will we stay?" Cay is an intelligent eleven year old, and I am a fifteen year old who will fight anything that threatens my loved ones.
"Anywhere, Cay. It doesn't matter." I reply. I don't even know myself, where we will stay. I climb into the cockpit of the craft and tell Cay to stay in the back.
He needs to be safe.
The doors of our craft seal and the roof opens.
Soon we're flying through the black emptiness between the moon and the Earth, dodging the bullets fired by the Selene Guards.
Soon Earth is drawing nearer and nearer, in a beautiful climax, closer to a pool of water surrounded by trees and ghostly white flowers that seem to glow under a darkish blue sky.
