Short Story Jack: Part 1

I frowned down at the ground and hummed the song to myself trying to figure out what sounded off. I tapped the pencil onto my chin as I thought. I made a note on my note pad as I picked up my ukulele. I started to sing from the begining.

"Close your eyes
take my hand
picture this
we're walking alone
just you and me
together at last
thats my dream

and open your mind
think of a dream
one you've wanted forever
and tell me everything."

I smiled as I sang, thinking about my family.

"Right here right now
we're all alone
as we stand

Sam, Dean, Cas, and Jack, my boys.
Recently, Jack had been acting different. Smiling more, holding doors open for me, laughing at my jokes.

"Take my hand

somewhere far
along this road

I smiled thinking about how he made me feel. I felt like I was actually going to be ok just because I was near him. Butterflies in my stomach when he looked into my eyes.

As I sang I realized how I felt about him.

"To a place
bright and warm
to a place
that feels like home"

I couldn't help but hope he felt the same way.

I was in love with him. I had fallen head over heals for the Nephilim.

I looked up to see him leaning against the doorway.

"To a place bright and warm
to a place that feels like home"

As the last chord rang through the air he gave me a sad smile.

"What gave you the idea to write that one?" He asked. I smiled and set my guitar down.

"I finally found my home." I said quietly. "After years of searching for some sort of place or person that I could feel whole," I paused and a tear fell down my face. "I finally found a place where I can just be myself, and be happy."

"I'm happy you finally found that." He said walking over to sit next to me on the bed.

"It's you guys more than the place." I said. I could feel the blush covering my cheeks. "You guys are my home. No matter where we are." I smiled at him.

"(Y/n), can I just say, I love you, and I always will." He said happily. I grabbed the front of his shirt and kissed him roughly. When we pulled back, I smiled.

"I love you too."
