Chapter #2: A Game of Court and House

PREVIOUSLY ON SUPER SMASH BROS. DANGANRONPA: 16 of the world's best Smashers entered the mysterious Subspace Manor. After some exploration and finding an awesome lounge, Princess Zelda was killed by someone wielding a curved blade. Who is the owner of this blade, and how will he or she die?

        "Attention all Smashers! The corpse of Princess Zelda has been located! Please head to the Courtroom immediately!" Tabuu shouted through a microphone that echoed through the entire house. Link lifted Zelda's body onto Yoshi's back and carried the dead princess down the hallway to the courtroom a floor below the rooms. Once they made it to the courtroom, Yoshi lowered Zelda into her casket, which sunk below the floor before it closed up. A machine of sorts appeared with colored squares with each of the Smashers' faces on it's screen - Zelda's face crossed out, obviously. The screen then switched to a gray display with a black line with the words "EVIDENCE". 

        "The household trial will now take place! Whoever has evidence may insert it into the machine." Tabuu instructed, pointing at the hole the machine now had. Sonic pulled out a bag that held the murder weapon inside - a curved blade with blood dried onto the blade - and threw it into the machine. Some buzzing noises came from the inside, and within seconds the screen showed the blade with a name - "Final Cutter" - and some analyzed bits. Those included Hylian blood, glutton owner, and up special. The glutton owner could be almost anyone at the table, with only a few exceptions. Sonic was, thankfully, one of those few exceptions. Gluttonous owner of a sword? It can't be Link or Pit, that's for sure. the blue hedgehog thought deeply. "So, fess up, whoever did this. Why did you kill Zelda?! We have been friends since childhood!" Link shouted as tears poured heavily from his eyes.

        Ness gave the green tunic hero a pat on the back as the machine's screen display changed to a voting chart. There were 4 names - Mario, Luigi, Kirby, and Pit - displayed, each with a 00 next to them. Those were the possible killers. Screens with 4 buttons appeared on each of the stands where the Smashers were, each with the name of the possible killer on it. "You will all vote on who you think did it. Whoever did it is guilty and will be leaving us." Tabuu said.

"But what about evi-" Sonic asked.

"Shut it!" Tabuu shouted from his throne.

        Each of the Smashers chose who they thought had killed Zelda. The results were displayed on the screen. The final results were as follows; MARIO: 00, LUIGI: 01, KIRBY: 13, PIT: 01. Every Smasher except for Kirby store down at the pink puffball. "What? You think I did it?!" Kirby said nervously. Luigi gave the puffball his death stare, and then Kirby spoke. "Okay, I did it. It wasn't out of anger, I swear! Zelda always took me out every freakin' match! And every time, it was 'Da Winnur iz Zelduh!' and I would always come in third place! GFYREJFGEYGEUBWNMDHFUEHUFHE......" The table was again silent, just as it had been when Tabuu uttered the word "Murder" hours ago.

        "Dude, that's harsh!" Ness commented. "Silence! An execution is about to take place. I will escort Mr. Kirby to the Execution Chamber, where he will...um...be saying his last words." Tabuu said as he used a Golden Bracket to grab Kirby and hauled him to a metal room. The other 14 Smashers took their places in a room just next to it. A banner flashed EXECUTION #01 STARTED: Overkill. Kirby was tied by his arms and legs to a pole, and a door opened. Several familiar enemies (to Kirby) came out. Kirby swallowed most of them with ease, but then he felt a burning sensation (a bad one) inside of his stomach. A bomb had been implanted inside Kirby from a Gordo, and then...KABOOM! The pink puffball was dead. He was lowered into a casket, similar to Zelda's, but with a star on it instead. Pikachu, Luigi, and Ness hugged together tightly and sobbed, fearing for the worst. Tabuu grinned. It's all going according to plan! Soon those idiotic Smashers will have no hope left! My Smash Despair is working....especially on that yellow rodent, green-clad sidekick, and PK master. Now all I need is someone else to die...

        The execution had finished, and it was now 9:00. Tabuu said that dinner would be in their rooms shortly, and that anyone caught outside of their rooms after 11:00 would be punished. By that, he meant a word with that Smasher in his 'office'. Sonic walked silently back to his room, but heard weeping coming from the left room to his. That room belonged to Luigi. Sonic left his room while still eating an orange he had snagged from his fruit plate, knocking on the door of the sidekick. "C-Come in-a..." Luigi muttered, still sobbing away. The blue hedgehog entered and saw the sidekick staring at a picture from the Melee Reunion Party in 2001 with him and Kirby enjoying each other's company. "Hey, Luigi, I think everybody here - especially you, Ness, and Pikachu - will miss Kirby deeply. I only knew the guy for two Smash tournaments and a couple of hours." Sonic said as he rest his hand on Luigi's back. "Soon, if we perish in this place, we'll be back with Kirby again." Luigi's emotion soon turned to a small smile. 

        Tabuu was sitting in his office watching a couple of horror films on SmashFlicks when he felt it. It was a burning sensation felt only by evil deities who hated it. It was hope. Despair was the complete opposite of hope, and Tabuu had planned to keep it that way. He didn't want to do anything about it now - he had horror films to watch.

        It was about 10:39 and Mario was walking to the dining room to get a snack. As he walked past Tabuu's office and the Execution Chamber, Mario noticed a door, covered in wallpaper and worn by the sands of time. He used a small fireball to tear away the wallpaper, and opened the door as a spider crept back towards it's web. Mario walked through the small corridor leading to the room and saw it. He couldn't believe what was in front of him. 12 giant tubes (2 filled with the caskets of Zelda and Kirby) with some sort of energy inside of them were in front of him. Mario backed up to run and tell the others before he was attacked by Tabuu.
