Each and every night, a thousand people, and that is all they are, tilt there heads skyward and utter a wish. Just to themselves, very quietly, and if they are asked what they are doing, they respond, "Nothing."
Some of those people have good lives, but wish for something more fulfilling. Others wish for greedy things, like money or fame. Still others have humble little lives that they fight to elongate every day.
Humans are strange like that. They always want what they can't have, and don't want what they need. I always think that humans will be the death of themselves.
So yes, humans do wish. However foolish the wish may be, it is still a wish. They wish upon stars, not knowing what a star really is.
