Chapter 3 - The Chase

Killian Grahams

After I was done at the park, I was in for a long talk with my mother about how skipping school will lead to me going to jail, yada,yada, yada. I will skip that.

I layed in my room and noticed there was a thunder storm outside and I couldn't help but wonder why Aria skipped school with that guy.

"Killian, I'm leaving for the store, don't burn the house down!" my mom yelled down stairs.

"Okay!" I yelled back. After a couple minutes the door slammed shut and the engine roaring and fading told me she was gone. I walked down stairs and decided to have an apple then walked into the living room and began watching a movie.

About a half an hour into it, I heard a motorcycle engine at the end of the street. I looked out the window and saw a motorcycle pass by. Who was that? then I saw the brown hair flowing in the wind, Aria. She had 2 black SUV's chasing after her and then they parked in my drive way and began walked up my door step.

She expertly parked her motorcycle to the side and jumped off. One of the bullets that were being shot at her hit her arm but she ignored it as she ran to my front door, opened it and immediately shut it.

"Killian!" she yelled.

"Yes?" I asked as I ran to her. Up close her hair was soaking wet from the rain, she had a little blood running down her arm and she had a small scrape on her face but she didn't look phased as if this happened to her every day.

"You'll need to come with me, if you wanna be safe." she ordered with putting her gun in a holster she kept on her thigh.

"Okay, just let me change." I said rushing upstairs to change into jeans and a white shirt with some tennis shoes. I rushed down stairs with my phone in my pocket.

"You might wanna bring a back pack with a change of clothes." she ordered. she had her backpack on and kept her gun in position to shoot at any second.

I packed some clothes and stuffed them in my bag and ran down stairs with putting my things on my back. Aria was cautiously checking behind the closed curtain with her gun close.

"Okay I'm all packed up. What do we do now?" I asked.

"Stay close." She said before putting her gun in a ready position and put her hand on the door knob.

I zoomed around the corner leaving Killian. After 20 minutes of zooming around street corners, thunder boomed and rain started pouring down. I groaned as I continued. When I was 2 streets down from where Killian's street was, I looked in my rear view mirror that was on my handle.

"Oh, shit." I cursed as I saw 2 black SUV's following me.

"Pull over and make this easier." someone said over a speaker phone.

"I don't think so buddy." I said to myself as I sped up and turned down Killian's street. They continued after me until they parked in Killian's drive way, we may not be best friends anymore but I'm not letting them get to him.

I quickly parked the motorcycle and ran towards the house, when suddenly a sharp pain crossed my arm. With all the adrenaline through my veins, I barely even noticed. I opened the door and quickly locked it as soon as I shut it.

"Killian." I yelled in the house. it hasn't changed. A painting of a forest hung on the wall where a marble vase held some flowers, lily's.

"Yes." He answered, coming into view and it was obvious he was confused.

"Come with me if you wanna be safe." I ordered as I put my gun in the holster on my right thigh.

"Okay let me change." he said before racing up stairs, he came back down in jeans at shirt.

"You might wanna bring a change of clothes in a backpack." I said while thinking of my outfit in my backpack with me.

He nodded and raced upstairs once again. I was looking out the window with caution where the guys outside were waiting.

"What do we do now?" he asked.

"Stay close." I said then got my gun ready and put my hand on the door knob.

I took a breath and turned the knob after unlocking it. Shot's started firing and I guided Killian there with out getting me or him shot. I threw my bag under the seat and threw Killian the extra helmet.

"Hop on!" I yelled to him. he quickly put it on. I put the seat down and he sat down along with me. I quickly started up the bike and I felt Killians arms around my stomach.

I sped off with Killian gripping to me tighter.

"Um, Aria! They're on to us!" Killian yelled from behind me. I looked at the rear view mirror and saw them behind us.

"Dammit. hold on!" I yelled. he held on tighter and I took a sharp turn and I shot the gas tank making the car explode behind me and Killian. The other car emerged from the fiery smoke and continued chasing us.

"These guys just don't give up do they?" I asked aloud.

I sped up, making the engine rev. I took another sharp turn and looked at the rear view mirror quickly and didn't see them follow us.

"We lost them. you can slow down." Killian said but ignored him and kept speeding as a ramp came into view. I sped up more and my surroundings were a blur and I could feel Killian bury his face in my back.

I revved the engine and we flew in the air thanks to the ramp. Everything happened in slow motion as we flew through the air and then finally we landed on a gravel road. We slightly skidded to the side but then I started driving slower and I was able to see the moon reflect on the dark water.

"So where are we going?" Killian asked as I felt his face come off my back.

"You'll find out and don't worry there's no more high speed chases." I informed him.

I pressed a couple buttons on my motorcycle and it made a screen appear on a projector in front of me but I could still see the road ahead.

"Call Seth." I ordered.

"Right a way." an automated voice said and the projection said 'calling Seth'. in a few moments he picked up and I could see him.

"Where are you? is everything okay?" Seth fired questions at me.

"I'm almost there, open the gates. I just had some minor difficulties on the way here. I'll be just a few moments." I informed him and then hung up.

"Alright Aria, you have some explaining to do." Killian ordered.
