Chapter 4

Stiles' POV
Before we could even comprehend what was happening the flames were already spreading. The fire alarm went off and the sprinklers started spraying water. "We need to get out of here"says Betty. We all agree. Malia runs off somewhere. When she returns she's got two people with her. They must have been trapped in a room somewhere. "Stiles there is people trapped in this school. We need to help" she says going back to get more people. I nod quickly using my hearing to listen for the heartbeats of others. Minutes go by and we have saved all the people in the building. "Who were those people in white" asks Malia. "That was the farm cult. The ring leader is Evelyn" says Betty looking at Evelyn. "Why did they start a fire"I ask. "We don't know. That's what we are going to find out"says Jughead. "But before that,we need to go to Pops and discuss something"says Veronica. As we get to Pops we go down to Veronica's speakeasy. "So what's this about" asks Archie. "Malia and I are sisters" she says. "What? How?" Asks Betty. "Go grab a drink...it's a long story" I say before sitting down and letting Malia explain everything. After she explains everyone is pretty much in shock. From being completely blind about knowing anything supernatural to finding out that they actually exist. "Back to this cult thingy" says Malia. "If you can give me all the information you have about it,then we can go back to my house and I can start setting it up on the crime board and piecing everything together" I say. "And that GandG game" says Malia. "My dads a cop, and I also want to be a cop, Malia here wants to be a detective" I say as we leave heading to my house. "So you start working with the cult and I'll work on the game" says Malia. I nod my head as we pull up to our new house. As we head to my bedroom Malia grabs a couple of snacks and drinks for us. After hours and hours of searching everything about this cult I finally found something. "Malia" I say. "Yeah" she replies picking her head up from the book she was reading about the game. "Look what I found" I say pointing to a picture. "Is that" she asks shaking her head a little. "It is. The one and only Meredith" I say looking at her. "Seems like we just can't get away from her"she says with a sigh. I nod and then find out more on what she has to do with this cult. "Ugh. This stupid game" Malia says frustratingly. "Maybe you should take a break" I say walking over to her, hugging her from behind". "No. No what I need to do is get the bestairy" she says getting up and walking to the closet. "For what" I ask curiously. "This gargoyle king. No ones ever heard about him. Maybe we are looking at this all wrong. We aren't looking for someone in this town or any town. We are looking for something no ones ever seen unless you play the game" she says flipping the pages in the book. "So we are looking for what then" I ask. "Someone supernatural" she says getting to a page with a gargoyle on it. " I dont follow" I say. "Stiles. Pay attention please. The gargoyle king only exists because of this game, but how come no other town knows about this game. You can't look it up on the internet either. Meaning someone created this game based off of what or who" she says writing "who is the gargoyle king and who made the game" on the crime board. "You think someone made this game based off of something supernatural" I say. She nods and says "and what better way than to start with the Dread Doctors" she says getting the book out. "This is gonna be a long night" I say. She nods. Hours have gone by and we still haven't found anything. "This is pointless" says Malia. "We can't give up" I say. "Stiles...call me crazy but I think we need to call up someone. Someone who knows all about the dread doctors" she says. "Do not say it"I say getting off the bed. "Stiles we need to. He knows all about them. And. We can get my mother to help us too" she says. "Why? So they can do what they did last time" I ask in disbelief. "You are being unreasonable" she says grabbing her phone. "Do not call him" I say standing up. "Too late" she says as the phone starts ringing. I can not believe her right now. If all people. Of all the people she calls freaking Theo. "He'll be here by tomorrow" she says walking out the room. "Where are you going" I ask. "Out" she replies and then leaves without saying anything else. Well hell. I think to myself. A few hours have gone by and Malia still isn't back yet. She'll come home eventually I say to myself laying down fixing to fall asleep. As soon as my eyes start to shut my phone starts ringing. "Oh for crying out loud" I scream to myself. I didn't even bother to look at who it was that called mad that they won't let me sleep. "What the hell is so important that you are calling me" I say with rage. "St-Stiles" I hear her mutter our. "Malia. Malia where are you. Are you ok?" I ask worried. "Please help me" she says. " I-i don't know where I'm at. But there's someone chasing me" she says scared. "Okay. Ok baby stay calm. I-i need you to focus. Look at your surroundings. Use your ears. Listen for something. Anything to help figure out where you are" I say panicking putting on my shoes and running out the door toward Betty's house. "I- I can hear water. Like in a river or s-something like that. Trees. The w-woods maybe" she says. "Ok. I'm at Betty's. We are gonna get the gang together and find you. I love you" I say knocking on the door. "Please h-hu-hurry. I am not out here alone. And- she doesn't get to finish. I hear a growl and I definitely know that's Malia. "Betty. Betty open the door. Hurry up" I yell banging on the door. "What" she says opening it. I walk in and see everyone there. "Great. You are all here. Now get of your asses and help me find Malia" I say quickly. "Where is she" asks Archie. "If I knew I wouldn't be here" I snap. "But she said she hears water. Like rushing river water. And trees. Woods maybe" I say. "Sweetwater river" says Cherly. "Show me. Now. She isn't out there alone" I say. After what feels like forever we finally make it to the river. I grab the bini that Malia always wears and sniff it trying to catch her scent. "What are you doing" asks Veronica. "Getting her scent. Or at least trying to. Malia was the best tracker in the pack. Bc she lived as a coyote for years. No one else knows how. I've seen her do it plenty of times tho" I say smelling it again. "Malia" I head Betty yell. We hear a scream and then more growling. "Follow me" I say taking off into a full sprint towards the scream. "Maliaaaaa" we all yell. We make it to where the scream came from and see Malia fighting berserkers. "You have got to be kidding me" I say out loud. "What are those" asks Toni. "Berserkers" I say before running towards Malia to help her out. I grab her hand and pull her away. "We need to leave. Now" I say as we start running the other way. "I. I saw them" Malia says. "Who" I ask. "D-dread doctors. They are here. With the king. The gargoyle king" she says. "Where did they go" I ask as we make it to the car. "Into the river" she says then passes out. "What the hell was that" and "what are dread doctors" asked the group.
