Rin 3000

It's been 2 years since then.... In my present everything has stopped, the pain is the only thing that increases and the lies, like my parents called them, "secrets" are being hidden from my sight. My memory is foggy, I feel that something very important is missing but I don't know what it is!

I remember reading a very old manga from Nia G. long time ago, is called "Rin 3000."  After that manga was published she decided to stopped making mangas for a while and  decided that she was not going to make mangas anymore with a girl being the main protagonist. The reason for that remains a mystery. The main protagonist was a girl named Rin, time after time she could see her future vanishing, being cut short. She didn't understand why and thought that it was a nightmare, but that nightmare seemed like it was an ever ending one. She was getting younger and reliving the past. People's memories were being erased but the only ones that were unaffected were Rin and her group of friends.

One day Rin and her  friends  entered an abandoned building in the outskirts of Kyoto. It had signs all over the place with, "DANGER DO NOT PASS." That was scary but Rin has always been a very curious girl and encouraged her friends to enter the building along with her.

For her surprised to access the building it required your finger prints to open the big metal door. Rin decided to try it out just for fun knowing that it wouldn't let her but to their surprise the door opened. Of course they thought that because the building was old that's why it let them in. But something was not right. They still were young to understand but everything was indeed connected to her "nightmares."

It was dark and cold inside, although outside was hot., because it was summer. There was no sign of anyone being there for decades, it was so dusty but inside the technology was advanced. She decided to look around and walk down the hallway and there it was a big metal door and she opened it just like she did with the first door. She found what appeared to be a very futuristic machine of some sort. She approached it and looked through the window, but she couldn't see anything because it was so dirty, so she decided to pressed all the buttons that were in that machine. When it finally opened she couldn't believe her eyes!

She hold her breath and forced herself not to scream out of shock, her other friends were looking around in other rooms so she was alone. Is it really me? She asked herself as she looked intently of what was inside the machine. She exclaimed- It's me!!! it really is me!? Rin was seeing her future self right in front of her eyes, at least that's what she thought. Inside was a young unconscious lady with the name inscribed in her cheek RIN 3000 in red letters. Her hair was white and so her eyebrows and eyelashes. There was something off about her, she was not breathing?

Well, now I'm not gonna go too much in detail but I really recommend reading it! Ever since I read that manga, I wonder how much of that, science can possibly make? If I were to have the power and ability to do it, I'll travel back to the past just like RIN 3000. If humans have the ability to destroy life, can we have the ability to preserve it? That's the reason why my parents worked so hard for the sake of people and that's the reason why my parents encourage me to be a scientist or a doctor to SAVE lives. So can RIN 3000 come to existence in our world?

Science is fascinating, but is it really what I want to do? That question keeps coming back but can I be good at something else?

I still remember how fun it was to be around my friends. Sometimes it seems that my life was interesting because of them and others I felt that I didn't fit in. But I treasure that time we spent together, as if we were never meant to die!
