"Sit!" Mrs. Jane that wears a luxurious dress demands Jenna with her furious expression when she sits on the sofa.
Her mother's face becomes a bit serious like she is unable to keep what she has postponed last night. Her mother restlessly sits there and fetch a deep sigh because she wants to utter truth.
The girl that just steps to downstairs nods yes and moves her body. She sits closer to her mother in a hurry because her mother's eyes are like to follow Jenna. This is the first time Jenna looks so nervous, it is seen clearly from her gesture that occasionally bites her upper and lower lip with her teeth.
She seems capable to hear about what her mother is going to tell because of his mother's face is like holding back in annoyance. Mrs. Jane, her mother has covered something that makes her uneasy.
"We don't like a mannerless boy, Jen. He didn't even respect us as your parents" her mother unexpectedly reprimands her.
Then, Jenna sits closer to her mother to make sure she listens to the shocking statement clearly.
"No, mom. He isn't like what you think" the girl tries to defend his new boyfriend even though she seems to be out of words.
Her unhappy face shows that she does not agree with her mother's statement about him just now.
"You don't understand what I mean. The point is I don't like him" her mother responses and walks to the kitchen to take a glass of water and back to her position in a hurry.
She still gives her daughter a chance to think and explain about him.
"So, should I call him to come here?" Jenna gives an idea in a second and shows her delighted expression.
Unfortunately, her mother frowns indicates that she objects to Jenna's off-the-cuff idea. Her mother thinks that such a boy like him does not need to be approached by her lovely daughter.
Jenna feels astonished by her mother because she always answers and fulfills what Jenna wishes last, but she is totally different than usual now. The girl tries to ingratiate her mother's heart, but she knows that it is not as easy as what she wants.
She lets her mother back to her bedroom and sits pensively on the sofa for a minute. She thinks about what she has to do for making her mother does not hate Ezra at all, but she does not get it quickly. So, she chooses to back to her comfortable bedroom than sits alone on the sofa.
Jenna steps to her bedroom and starts wondering about what makes her mother hates Ezra so much. He has not come to her house and talks eyes to eyes to her parents. The girl grabs her mobile phone that lays on her bed to call Bella, her best friend.
"Hi, Bel.." the girl begins the call with her not enthusiastic voice at all.
"Yes?" Bella, a girl that accompanied by a boy that sits beside her in the cafe responses her greet.
Bella is like does not excited to hear about her denunciation.
Jenna hears the crowd of the place through the phone, she guesses maybe she at a public place or in the cafe. Actually, she wants to tell it directly, but she is afraid that she will disturb her best friend.
"Do you have time? I wanna tell you something" Jenna that lays on her bed, close her eyes tries to ask her about her time because she needs her now.
She even can not think about the fate of her relationship too far.
"I'm busy, sorry" Bella turns off the call spontaneously without waiting for Jenna's voice comes out.
"Hello? hello?" Jenna rounds her eyes after she knows that Bella does not respond to her, Bella has left her alone.
She is not upset with Bella, but she wonders why Bella is not here when Jenna needs her. She obviously feels inauspicious all the problems that she experienced today. She tries to entertain herself by humming her favorite song, the best part with her standard voice.
"Huh," the girl croons and pulls the blanket to cover herself.
A not too cold room temperature still makes her trilled maybe she still terrified with all of her mother's words. It like a nightmare for her because she never expects to hear those words. Her mother rarely scolds her. So, it is the day she sees his mother as angry as that. While she is speechless, there is a person that stands behind the door.
"Jenna" her mother calls her.
Jenna becomes shocked and moves her body to come near to her mother. She guesses about what her mother is going to tell. She is afraid her mother would say about him again.
"Dad calls you now," her mother said. It is only a sentence, but it thrills her heart.
She is forced to walk by following the steps of his mother to the dining table. She is not able to think further about his father's anger anymore. The important thing is that she should be calm now. So, her father will not be suspicious of his sadness.
She pulls a chair and sits beside her father. She waits when her father will start scolding her, but her father is good enough today. He does not try to hurt Jenna's heart, but her mother seems still annoyed at her daughter.
"Jen, all the words that mom has said is because I care about you" her mother begins it when Jenna just tries a mouthful of spaghetti cooked by Mira.
His father looks at his mother in confusion, like he is curious about the word that his wife has told their daughter. Her mother shakes her head to her father indicates that there are nothing important things to talk about.
"But he isn't like what you think, mom" Jenna bravely replies to her mother.
She does not mean to be impolite to her mother, but she just tells her the reality because Jenna knows Ezra better than her mother. Both of them stare at each other, but her father does not.
He focuses on her food, he is like too hungry after spending an hour on the way home.
"Sorry, but I don't even understand why you want to be his girlfriend? Jen, you know that you answer it in front of my relatives and also my socialite association. I never expect you will do this" her mother says.
She says without giving chance for Jenna to explain when she states her point of view.
Her mother seems to doubt her new boyfriend without a logical reason. Mrs. Jane only repeats the same word with the same tune and expression until Jenna finishes eating.
She just hears what her mother says without responding it because she does not know what she has to say. She is worried it will offend her mother. So, she prefers hearing it without complain anymore.
"Actually dad also disagrees with you, Jen. It is too easy for you to believe in other" her father says.
He lets his opinion comes out after finish eating the food and his words accompanied by her mother's nod.
The girl is not that strong to defend him anymore because her father also disagrees with it. Even though, if she wants to clarify the misunderstanding, it is useless because no one understands her now.
The thing that Jenna wants to do now is finishing her food. Then, runs to her bedroom quickly.
