I woke up, in a different room, with a curtain drawn around me. My head ached, but I didn't dare touch it. I had a big needle in my hand that was covered in a bandage. I had a wrist band saying all my details. My ankle was also bandaged up.

A kind looking nurse opened the curtains. She was quite chubby, with a pink face and her hair was chestnut coloured. She looked quite young. "Would you like some water?" she asked.

I'm parched I thought, so I nodded. She handed me a small polystyrene cup filled with water. "Thank you." I said my voice all croaky.

I gulped down all the water and shut my eyes. "Are you in any pain at all?" the Nurse asked.

"Well, my head is killing me and my ankle aches. I just feel really tired." I replied.

"Ok. Here." she handed me a few pills and refilled my water.

"Thanks." I said as I put the pills in my mouth and drank some water.

"They will get to work in about five minutes." She said.

"Great."

Soon after that she left and I was alone. I carefully tried to stand up but I was like jelly. I managed to support my weight and opened the off white curtains. I collapsed back onto the bed in a heap. I wonder where my parents are, I'm actually liking having this silence. Spoke to soon, my family came bustling in. My mum had a suitcase packed full of stuff and my dad carting around a duvet and three of my fluffy pillows. I was being spoilt rotten. "Oh Darc are you ok?" my mum exclaimed.

I grunted, as I couldn't be bothered to answer. "We got you lots of stuff because you know you're staying here for a week so better make you comfy!" said my dad as he and my mum hugged me.

"Thanks" I croaked.
