Game Over, With Hell To Pay

Chapter 1

"Chan...Chanyeol?" Baekhyun groans out waking up to a pitch dark room. His heart is in his mouth. He doesn't feel the softness of the bed the two shared for years, nor does he find his fiancé next to him. All he feels is the cold, hard floor. He never liked the dark, especially when he didn't know where he was. For all he could know there might be a monster in the dark, out to eat him. And with all this, things start coming back to him from before he was abducted.

~~~~~ 4 hours earlier.

"Chanyeol, come on we need to check out the venue before they close up for the day," Baekhyun shouts out, shuffling around the apartment, putting on his boots and coat and grabbing Chanyeol's car keys.

"Remind me why we're doing this again? We already checked the venue earlier in the morning. The wedding's tomorrow and I need my beauty sleep," Chanyeol says as he trudges himself out the main door.

"I know, but the staff at the venue said there was a mishap with the sound system for the band, and I need to see if they got on with fixing it."

"Okay okay, let's get going then."

"So are you happy now? The staff took care of the problem with the sound system. See, nothing to worry about. Now let's go get some sleep," Chanyeol says as he walks to his car hand in hand with Baekhyun.

"Shit! Baek, I think I forgot my car keys at the venue. Wait here, I'll be back in a moment." Chanyeol leaves Baekhyun waiting by the car as he rushes back to the venue.

Baekhyun is occupied with thoughts of his wedding that would be tomorrow when a white van pulls up beside Chanyeol's car and three men — one with a chloroform soaked cloth — rush out of the van towards Baekhyun.

Baekhyun begins to panic and tries to get himself to run away, but he's quickly caught by one of the three men.

"CHANYEOL HELP PLEASE!!! CHANYEO- mmhm mfhfmm..." Baekhyun tries to call for help before his mouth and nose are covered, the chloroform on the cloth effectively knocking him out just before Chanyeol runs down the street yelling for Baekhyun to be let go. There's no one on the street — it being so late in the night — so the situation becomes, even worse, enough to kill Chanyeol's hopes of saving Baekhyun.

~~~~~ The present.

Having woken up, the room lights up. To Baekhyun's relief as well as terror he finds himself in an empty room, walls painted a monotone grey.

"Since our last contestant is finally awake, I will now proceed with a few details regarding this round of the game. The list of people taking part in this round has already been posted with code numbers and will be addressed as such through the intercom. As the game progresses there is a twist, and the viewers I hope will be in for a treat. I will keep it a secret and there is a chance it may not be revealed. And as always keep the comments section alive people!"

"What is this? PLEASE LET ME OUT! PLEASE! I'LL DO ANYTHING. PLEASE," Baekhyun screams, banging at the heavy metal door that is locking him into the room.

"Patience participant 1206, you won't be let out that easy. You need to put on a show for the viewers on the dark web. They paid good money to see some action. Now let me get to the rules. Well, there aren't any rules. But I will state what is to happen. There are currently 10 people in this maze of rooms. There are weapons hidden in various places and virtually anything can be used as a weapon. The game ends with only one survivor, hence, this is a fight to the death. There is no escape until and unless you are the only survivor. So, LET THE KILLING BEGIN!"

Upon the last words over the intercom the latches on the doors of each of the rooms that are encasing the participants, unlock. Baekhyun stares at the door in horror trying to process what he just heard.

"I have to kill people in order to get back to Chanyeol? Oh God! Chanyeol please get me out of this soon," Baekhyun thinks to himself as he slowly moves towards the door. Little did he know, that killing people would be the least of his worries.

Before he can reach the door, a buff man barges in and scans the room before his eyes fall onto Baekhyun. Judging by the patch on the guy's jumpsuit, it's participant 1208 who has entered the room.

"Please don't hurt me. Please," Baekhyun says as he frantically looks around the room in search of a weapon of sorts.

"Hah! I'm going to squash you like the little twink you are!" 1208 says as he charges toward Baekhyun.

Taking advantage of the fact that 1208 is charging at him, Baekhyun swerves past him and dashes out the door.

He sees a room down the hall that isn't marked with a number, unlike his room and runs into the room hoping no one else is there while 1208 is hot on his trails. The room Baekhyun enters has nothing but a table and a chest of drawers. He goes through the drawers first and lucky for him, he finds a sharp dagger in the second drawer.

Baekhyun has a tight grip on the dagger as he strategically dodges some of the punches by 1208, stabbing him in the gut and chest, effectively killing him.

"Participant 1208 is dead. There are 9 remaining contestants."

"What-what have I done?" Baekhyun stares at the dead body in front of him, trying to come to terms with the fact that he just killed someone. But he soon manages to collect himself with the reasoning that it was his only way to get out of this and see Chanyeol again.

"What a pussy! Get over it. You killed someone and it's not the last."

"Yeah, right? But I'm surprised a twink like 1206 was able to take down such a huge guy."

"Ugh, come to terms with it bitch. Stop sulking and entertain us some more will you?"

The comments come rolling in simultaneously as people enjoy the ruthless game they sponsor.

Baekhyun gets his mind together and cautiously makes his way out of the room and down the corridors keeping an eye out for any competitors.

He's about to walk down a particular corridor when he hears someone scream in frustration while cursing under their breath. Baekhyun peaks down the corridor from behind a wall and sees a figure crouched down, continuously stabbing at the body beneath him.

The man finally stands up from his position and turns towards where Baekhyun stands, and Baekhyun suddenly has an urge to throw up.
