we decided to walk to the cafe since it wasn't that far away. "i'll get us a table." she tells me before walking to the other side of the cafe, waiting for me to order our food. she tends to get extremely shy when she talks to people she doesn't know so i normally do a lot of talking for her in public. it's quiet cute actually.
i order our food and sit at the table she had picked out for us. "so, how's your sister?" she turns her phone off and sets it face down on the table.
"married. has kids. she left me behind." she murmurs before fiddling with her fingers on the table. i grab ahold of her hands.
"i know how close you guys were. but i'm here. so there's no need to be sad about your sister leaving." she looks me in the eyes and smiles, beginning to laugh.
"why are you laughing?"
"you think i care that she moved away?" she covers her mouth as she laughs as loud as she can.
"i mean she's you-,"
"she's just like my mom! and you remember how my mom is!" she interrupts me, laughing nonstop.
"you're mom is something else." we both begin to laugh but then the cafe worker brings over our food.
"thank you." dohee says, bowing her head. the young man smiles and walks away.
she really has be falling hard.
