"he has lunch everyday between 12 and 1pm, so make sure to never schedule him for anything between those hours" melissa explained before pointing to the calendar

"he only comes into the office tuesday, wednesday, thursday and sometimes sunday. those are the days you're required to work, as well as monday for reasons i'll go over later. tuesday through thursday he's in from 10am till 4pm, and sunday at 12pm to 6pm. that means sunday you must come in at 11am and leave at 7pm, monday you're allowed to come in whatever time and leave whenever as long as you're done with your tasks—which once again, i'll explain later—and lastly tuesday through thursday you'll be here from 9am to 5pm. noticing a pattern?"

"i'm here for an hour before and after he is"

"exactly. with the hour before he's here you're going over his daily schedule, making sure everything is right, just getting a head start on the day. after he leaves you'll be doing anything he asks of you, and yeah that's basically it. he just likes for you to be here before him and to leave after him. i usually use the spare time for myself, you're being paid two extra hours to honestly do nothing"

"okay" i nodded "but wait, i thought we were closed on weekends"

"the office is. but he just likes to come in and get some work done while nobody is here. so it'll just be the two of you"

great.

"next his usuals. he gets a haircut every saturday at 2pm and a mani-pedi following that at 3pm. every third friday of the month he gets a massage at 6pm—you do have to book that though so make sure you do it a week in advance—the number is in the book. every first sunday of the month he brings flowers to his dad, so he will not be in the office that day. also on friday he attends jum'ah—he's not extremely religious but he likes to partake in his muslim religion. uhh what else?"

i'm still tryna process his schedule and mine and this bitch over here talking bout mani-pedi's. why i gotta be in charge of a niggas toes?

"all this gon' be written down right?" i asked

"yeah i'm putting together a binder with everything you should need within the three months i'm gone. trust me though it get's easier. after a month you'll have your own method of doing things, but for now i'll leave it all in the binder"

"good morning secretaries" we heard causing us both to look outside the cubicle

asaad stood there wearing a grey fitted suit—it complements him.

"good morning mr. syed" melissa said

"sup" i nodded

"melissa please clear my schedule for the day, and i don't want any interruptions—"

"but sir your follow-up meeting with seth is today, i figured since you missed yesterday you'd want to—"

"send sharron, she's more than qualified to fill in for me. and you're going to need to finish training him some other day, he'll be spending the day with me" he said before looking over at me
