Forbidden Love

And with that Sherlock dropped the rope, letting the life-sized doll of himself fall off of the rooftop and land on the hard concrete down below.
Jim couldn't help but laugh along side the detective, this being mostly his idea and all. Fooling John into thinking the dear detective was dead, how hilarious.
As soon as they heard Johns yell, both Jim and Sherlock began to laugh together. This moment was certainly a sight to behold. Two enemies laughing together in harmony, not trying to kill each other for once.
But this felt different to simply two friends having a bit of a laugh. There was something else in the air, something that both the criminal and the detective have been thinking about for a while.
They looked at each other with both confusion and uncertainty but, without even questioning it, they both leant into each other and kissed. Just like that. There were no words.
It was simple yet full of need and desperality that nothing else mattered in that moment. This kiss between the two geniuses didn't last for very long yet it was long enough to solidify the feelings that they had for each other.
Sherlock was the one to pull away first yet he didn't go back to his original position, his face still right in front of Jims.
"Did we just-.."
He whispered, unable to comprehend these complex emotions of love that he was feeling. It was new and rather scary.
"I..think so.."
Jim responded, clearing his throat and moving his face away. The criminal, for once, was speechless. There were no snarky comments or teasing, only silence. He was just as confused and scared as Sherlock was but he felt like he wanted more. He /needed/ more.
They both did but they didn't know how to act. None of them knew what move to take next. Whether they should kiss the other again, talk to them, touch them. They didn't know.
Both Sherlock and Jim were as clueless as each other yet they both wanted it.
They were meant for each other.
Two lost souls on different paths. Destined to meet, to fight, to love.
They were the same after all and neither of them loved anyone else as much as they loved themselves.
