I Can't

I can't apply chapstick without hearing your voice saying come here sweet lips and being reminded of your kisses. I can't play my favorite song on the guitar without remembering how I played it for you and you were looking at me as if I was not real. I can't wear my sundresses without being reminded how you couldn't keep your hands off of me when I wore them. I can't tie my hair in a bun without being reminded how much you loved it when I did. I can't sit in my car without picturing you on the passenger seat and smiling at me in a way which made it impossible for me to focus on the road. And maybe all these things are excuses to think about you. But excuses are all I have, because you aren't here anymore.
