Elemental [Naladia #2]

Prologue

Thousands of years ago, there were five ancient dragons: one as red as a ruby, Lava the Fire Dragon; one as blue as the deepest depths of the ocean, Riptide the Water Dragon; one as green as an emerald, Terra the Earth Dragon; one as light blue as the sky, Wind the Air Dragon; and one the purest color of white, Diamond the Crystal Dragon.

     The Five Ancients ruled the dragon world of Naladia for over two hundred years in peace. It was just them and the other animals of Naladia. One day, they decided to share their power and created five sacred minerals. Lava's mineral was a ruby, Riptide's a sapphire, Terra's an emerald, Wind's an aquamarine, and Diamond's a diamond.

     They created these Sacred Minerals that, once every year, would shimmer and sparkle and start vibrating. Every time it did this, a new dragon of each species was born. But something happened before they made the minerals magic . . .

     When The Five Ancients were creating the Sacred Minerals, they all harnessed their magical powers and infused the Sacred Minerals with magical qualities. But Diamond was the most powerful of all the Five Ancients. When Diamond put the magic into her Sacred Mineral, she put so much into it that it cracked down the middle and was deemed unusable by the other Ancients. And so, two hundred years later, Diamond passed away, leaving Naladia filled with the other four dragon species and the Crystal Dragon species wiped from existence . . .
