Dinner was quiet, just like it usually was. Neither of them seemed to mind the silence as it was a comforting thing for them. Red had her cloak still on due to her grandmother's request, though Red wasn't sure why the cloak was so important.

As she ate her steak, she began to wonder why she even bothered with the cloak. Surely she would have the ability to leave it off for a bit right?

So why was it so important?

"Red?" The sound of her grandmother's voice brought her out of her questioning mind. She looked up at her grandmother with a look. "Are you feeling alright dear?"

"Of course, Granny. I feel fit as a fiddle!" Red giggled and smiled at the older woman. "I was just wondering about my cloak."

"A story for another time, my dear child.." Her grandmother spoke softly. She held Red's hand and squeezed it lightly. "Just promise me that you will never take it off. Ever."

"I.." Red sighed. As strange as the request was, she knee her grandmother was being serious. "I promise Grandmother."

"Good, dear child. May the Angels protect you from fate.." Grandmother smiled at Red. Red smiled in returned and grabbed Grandmother's half eaten for before tucking the old woman into bed.

"Get some rest grandma, I love you." Red kissed the elder woman's cheek and smiled again before putting their food away and changing into her pajamas. Of course, as she promised, she kept her cloak on and crawled into bed.

The sound of the crickets chirping and the soft humming of the wind lulled the young red clad girl to sleep.
