We finished eating and he guided me to the beach sitting in the sand. "You have been keeping in your feelings," he said.

I shrugged while tracing patterns in the sand not meeting his eyes since he now had no sunglasses.  "Nothing new," I said.

"Charlotte look at me," Doffy said and my eye connected with his. "Tell me about your past, and I will tell you about mine"

"What are you trying to gain?" I asked.

"Your trust in me, I miss you," he said honestly.

"Fine," I said. Looking on the ocean "I was born in London to Francis Clarence and Angela Clarence" I paused.

"My mother was very old school, her mother died during childbirth so it was her grandmother and father who was very strict, I guess. They instilled lessons in her that were outdated and wrong. When my mother was 6 she moved to London with them her father got a job in as a manager in a factory owned by the Clarence." I paused looking at his eyes that reminded me off the beautiful ocean that was before us.

"Strict in what ways?" Doffy urged on.

"They would teach her a 'woman's place' " I replied "Walk 2 steps behind a man, if a man hits you, you,  you're doing something wrong"

"She abided by those teachings, trained to be a perfect housewife and then she met my father Francis, they fell in love fast and he got her pregnant pressured by her father and my grandparents on my father side. They got married and they were pregnant with me,"  I said turning to him.

"My father was busy a lot travelling the world so she had free reign on my upbringing we lived far away from the Clarence Estate so she could do whatever she wanted. Started to fill my head with so many of her ideals, that I could only be happy settling for a husband and children." I paused looking aways my hands occupied with sand beneath us.

"I was nothing like my mother growing up, Dad says I have my grandmother's stubbornness" I smiled sadly.

"You rebelled against her teachings"  Doffy finished.

" Yeah I did, but it came at a price every time I would  she would beat me, not a simple slap" I chocked a laugh "I wish it was a slap, no she would whip me, not too hard that it would scar, choke me, punch but never my face, she wanted to keep this" I gestured to my face. "In perfect condition" as I turned to him "Then it came to a point where my parent's marriage was dissolving and she began drinking and doing drugs, to everyone else we were a perfect family also with the fact my mother got pregnant with Caroline when I was 9 so my father couldn't leave,"

I felt the tears coming "It got worse, I would do anything and she would beat me cursing me for not docile, perfect"

"Then I turned 13," I said. The tears fell freely now, no stopping them. "When my father would go off on his business trips she would bring suitors and they would touch me" I gripped my arm. "When I would tell her what they would do, she would laugh and say they may be my husband they have a right to "

Doffy was silent as he pulled me to his chest. "My own mother condoned me being sexually abused, they never took my virginity but they would force me" I choked gripping his t-shirt.

"Then one day I snapped," I said cleaning off my tears "I attacked her and my father came through the door and all those years of abuse I endured by her came out. I told him everything but she got up and escaped with Caroline"

"Over the years she would be there in the background when I got into University and investing in companies she would try to ruin that, spread fake rumours or try to send someone to ruin it" Pulling away from him but he kept his hand rubbing up and down my back.  "Then she started to send people to kill me, her own daughter"

"and my father and I tried to find Caroline but she was slick always two steps ahead until a couple of months ago I finally found Caroline and she was even worse than me"

"Where is your mother now?" He asked me.

"Dead," I replied "Caroline is still not completely healed after what happened to her," I said. "I couldn't get to her in time," I said crying my eyes out heaving. I wasn't a pretty crier.

He picked me up from the ground carrying us to the house to the soft bed and he held me as I got my tears out.

"You've been keeping all these feelings in" He stated not questioning me. I nodded as my tears wet his shirt.

"You shouldn't," he said softly.

I never said anything letting him hold me as I got all the tears out my system.
