hanuel waited patiently, holding the lunchbox that she made as she smiled to herself.

she was waiting for her boyfriend, wooseok, below his company to give him the lunchbox. wooseok was a rookie trainee and TOP Media, an entertainment company, and was training to become a singer. after wooseok got into the company, haneul and him couldn't hang out as much as they did before, but haneul understood.

"nuel-ah?" a familiar voice called out to hanuel. she turned around and beamed when she saw her boyfriend.

"you're here," hanuel says as she made her way towards wooseok. she was extremely glad to see wooseok but he didn't seem as happy as she did.

"what is it?" wooseok asks.

"well, i made lunch for you! do you want to eat together?" hanuel suggested, lifting up the lunchbox that she was holding in her hands.

instead of replying, wooseok sighs.

"i - i don't know nuel-ah.." wooseok says as he shut his eyes momentarily.

hanuel tensed up at his response. wooseok looked tired and hanuel could sense that he seemed annoyed.

"what is it? are you alright?" hanuel asked, concerned, as she took a step closer to him.

to her surprise, wooseok stepped back and hanuel's heart dropped at his action.

"i'm sorry, i don't think i can eat with you. i got to go now, see you," wooseok says emotionlessly and without another word, he turned around and left.

hanuel opened her mouth to call out to him but nothing could come out. wooseok never talked to her in such a way before and she was really worried about what happened to him. she was shocked, upset and disappointed. she came all the way here to give him the lunchbox that she prepared on her own but he wasn't thankful at all.

hanuel took a deep breath to calm herself down before turning away. she dumped the lunchbox away into a dustbin nearby before heading home.

that night, hanuel lay on her bed and she couldn't stop thinking about whatever happened that afternoon. she contemplated hard if she should text wooseok. she was angry about what wooseok did but she was more concerned about what happened to him that made him act that way.

"kim wooseok... that idiot..." she mummered to herself as she turned off her phone and threw it on her pillow.

suddenly, her bedroom door opened and her mum peeked her head in.

"hanuel-ah, wooseok's looking for you," her mum said.

"what? as in he called? or is he here?" hanuel immediately got up from her bed.

"he's here darling. he's waiting outside the house, hurry and don't let him wait too long," her mum smiled faintly before closing the door.

feeling anxious, hanuel hurriedly grabbed her phone before heading out. she was in her pajamas with absolutely no make up but that wasn't the point, she was afraid to meet wooseok. she was afraid that he would.... shaking that thought out of her head, she opened the front door to see wooseok standing outside.
