I walked down the dark street as fast as I could manage, knowing it had a bad reputation. Unfortunately I'd happened to have missed the bus (it wasn't a surprise, it was bound to happen since public transport here is so bad) and was now forced to walk through a dodgy street. It was full of pubs and brothels, and I read somewhere that it was the most popular place for stabbings in our area. And I just happened to be walking there at night. Great.

As I parsed the first brothel I kept my head low, not wanting to draw any attention to myself. There were two older women in fishnets outside trying advertise the place, walking up to men and inviting them in. They quickly caught sight of me. "Hello there dear, looking for a good time?" one said seductively. I pushed past her in a hurry. "We cater to all your needs! There is a queer option too if that's what you're in to!" called out the other women as I walked away. I felt a blush rise to my cheeks as I clutched my satchel, trying to ignore them. Thankfully I made it through the rest of the street without any trouble, and was almost out. I parst one last alleyway, and I saw two guys cornering a smaller man. I quickly looked away, not wanting to get involved. Until I heard the smaller man speak.

"Wait, please!"

I stopped in my tracks at the familiar voice. I turned back to the alleyway to get a glimpse of the man.

"Ringo?" I called aloud, quickly covering my mouth as I did so. Both men quickly snapped their heads around to me, and than they looked at each other. "Let's get outta here." one said in a husky voice, and they decided to leave. That left a small man shivering in the corner of the alleyway, in tears, and me. I cautiously approached him and noticed my suspicions were correct.

"Ringo?" I whispered, bending down to his side. And sure enough, Ringo's familiar face looked up at me. "G-george?" he asked in total surprise. But before I was able to respond he burst into tears again, and I felt helpless as I pathetically rubbed his back. I saw people walk by and begin to stare, so I put an arm around his shoulders. "Hey, want to go back to my place?" I asked as warmly as possible. Ringo nodded numbly, still shivering. I helped him to his feet and we slowly walked out of the alleyway, me with an arm of his back the entire time.
